Hello, Columbus: Readers share tips from their travels

FRANCE
Jan Lyddon and Bruce McComb of Columbus visit Saint-Paul de Vence, a medieval village near Nice, France. It is where Marc Chagall returned and lived out his days after WWII. They recommend visitors take time to visit the art galleries, but remember to wear shoes that allow easy walking on the hilly terrain.

AFRICA
Deanna and Bruce Herfel of Gahanna visit Ol Pejeta Conservancy near Nanyuki, Kenya. Ol Pejeta covers 140 square miles and is home to large herds of many of east Africa's native species, including the last two northern white rhinos on Earth which, unfortunately, are on the brink of extinction. The couple suggests that if you planning to go on a safari, stay overnight at the conservancy so that you can listen to animal noises at night. Also, check the requirements for entering an African country because numerous forms and vaccinations are required prior to entry.

The pandemic has taken a toll on travel, but many people are starting to venture to destinations that they only dreamed of visiting the past two-plus years.

Or maybe you are staying a bit closer to home for your adventures, and that's great, too!

Hello, Columbus would love to have a photo of you and your family or friends at your travel destinations.

Regardless of whether you are sending us a photo from near or far, choose a vacation photo showing you, your companions and the Travel page, and send it to The Dispatch.

Make sure to include the names and hometowns of the people pictured, from left to right; where the photo was taken; a tip to help other travelers; and contact information for you in case we have questions. But please, no submissions from previous years.

Submissions can be emailed to Becky Kover, bkover@dispatch.com
