More Austin restaurants have announced plans to contribute to relief efforts in Uvalde following the mass shooting at Robb Elementary in the South Texas town.
A portion of proceeds from sales Saturday and Sunday will go to verified GoFundMe campaigns that have been established to assist the families in Uvalde.
Austin Food Adventures, an Instagram page that provides opinions about food in the Austin area, helped organize the effort, called "Dine with Uvalde."
Amanda Wong, who runs the account, said Saturday she felt with her platform it was easy to bring business together for a good cause.
"This event allows (individuals) to support their favorite businesses and help out the families of the victims of the shootings," Wong said.
The following businesses will donate 10% of all sales on Saturday, according to the event post:
Show Me Pizza
Sally & Scott Amburgey
The following businesses will donate 10% of all sales on Sunday:
Kome Sushi Kitchen
Sa-Ten Coffee and Eats
Happy Rito Seafood
Fil N Viet
LeRoy and Lewis Barbecue
Brooklyn Breakfast Shop
Jew Boy Burgers
Un Mundo De Sabor
Mandala Kitchen & Bar
"For all involved and for the safety of our community, especially for the kids, please come by this Sunday as we get together as a family to show our support," Happy Rito posted to its Instagram account.
Emmer & Rye also announced that restaurants in its hospitality group will donate 10% of sales on Sunday to the Texas Elementary School Shooting Victims Fund, another verified GoFundMe campaign.
"As a team filled with mothers and fathers, our hearts are breaking over the horrific and senseless school shooting in Uvalde, Texas," a post on the Emmer & Rye website says. They also provided a link for direct donations.
