How to help with flood relief through volunteering, donations
After a series of devastating floods, much of Vermont still needs assistance. There is plenty of work to do. Here are some ways Vermonters can help by volunteering or by donating money.

The Vermont Community Foundation has organized the VT Flood Response & Recovery Fund 2023 to coordinate a philanthropic response. https://vermontcf.org/our-impact/programs-and-funds/vt-flood-response/
The American Red Cross of Northern New England is accepting donations. They manage the emergency shelters and provide other forms of immediate relief. https://www.redcross.org/local/me-nh-vt.html
United of Northwest Vermont's United Flood Relief Fund is another organization accepting donations to provide various forms of relief and support to the community. https://www.classy.org/campaign/united-flood-disaster-relief-fund/c501148
Vermont Farm Fund (https://www.vtfarmfund.org) and The Farmer Emergency Fund (https://www.nofavt.org/donate-now) award loans and grants directly to farmers to start rebuilding projects. Donations can help support the loans.
The Vermont Main Street Flood Recovery Fund (https://www.vtrecovery2023.com) awards grants to small businesses affected by the disaster.
Montpelier Strong Recovery Fund is a collaboration between the Montpelier Foundation and Montpelier Alive to raise funds for downtown businesses. Volunteer
The state of Vermont has organized a volunteer page where they assess your skills and what causes need the most attention. The volunteer efforts are a collaboration between state and nonprofit partners. You can sign up at vermont.gov/volunteer.
