Hoosier to Hoosier volunteers needed

It's time for Hoosier to Hoosier (H2H) again, and they need your help! H2H is a group of volunteers who go into Indiana University dorms and sort usable items (tons of them!) left by IU students for donation to 30 local nonprofits, ranging from Shalom and Middle Way to the Animal Shelter and ReStore. Volunteers are needed to help from 1- 2:30 p.m. on May 15, and from 9-10:30 a.m. each day from May 16 through May 19, and May 22-26. H2H is a win/win. It diverts tons of usable items from the landfill and helps local nonprofits survive. They can accept volunteers ages 16 and up, and younger if supervised by parents. If you can help, please contact hershey@indiana.edu; they would happily work with you.

Dawg Gone Walk & Fiesta Event Help

Come help the Brown County Humane Society on May 21 for the Dawg Gone Walk & Fiesta. Volunteers are needed to fill three shifts, 9-11:30 a.m. for event setup, 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. for event help (running a game, selling tickets, etc.), and 2:30-4 p.m. for cleanup and teardown. It takes over 50 people to make this day possible, and volunteers are the key to making the day a success. The Dawg Gone Walk & Fiesta is a fun-filled day where pets and owners alike enjoy contests, games, demonstrations, and a ceremonial walk around Deer Run Park in Nashville. Last year, approximately 117 dogs and over 200 people attended the Walk. Learn more and sign-up today at https://tinyurl.com/dawg-gone-volunteers. Activate! volunteers needed

Are you a volunteer, a member of an organization that utilizes volunteers, a board member, committee or commission member? Would you like a chance to share your experiences, share your volunteer needs, spread the word about your organization, or motivate others in the community to get involved? If so, consider volunteering to share your stories. Activate! is a partnership between WFHB and the city of Bloomington Volunteer Network, which presents first-person narratives from people working for positive change. Interested participants will pre-record interviews at the WFHB Community Radio Station, which will air at a later date during the end of the 5 p.m. Monday Evening News. Interviews can be scheduled Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3, 3:30 or 6:30 p.m. Interviews can take up to 30 minutes but are often shorter. For more details and to get involved contact Michelle Moss at 812-349-3433 or email getconnected@bloomington.in.gov.
