Help kids in need through Providence Journal Holiday Fund

The Providence Journal Holiday Fund is now accepting donations to help children and teenagers in need this holiday season.

The Holiday Fund strives to bring hope and make the season brighter for less fortunate children within our community. Donations to The Providence Journal Holiday Fund will provide basic essentials, including clothing, toiletries, baby supplies, underwear and books.

“While simple, the gifts purchased will benefit children and youth whose families otherwise would have had nothing to give or offer for the holidays,” said Peter Meyer, president and publisher of The Providence Journal. “Your contribution to our Holiday Fund ensures that children in need receive warm clothing and other items essential for this time of year.”

Administered by the Rhode Island Foundation, the Holiday Fund provided gifts to thousands of children last year, thanks to the generosity of The Journal’s readers.

“Given the wide-ranging impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on so many children and families in our state, your support and kindness will be more valued and appreciated than ever before,” said Neil D. Steinberg, the Rhode Island Foundation’s president and CEO.

The Journal will provide in-kind print and online advertising space to promote the fund. Donors will be recognized weekly in the Thursday edition of the newspaper and online at providencejournal.com/giving.

A check or money order donation payable to The Providence Journal Holiday Fund can be mailed to the Rhode Island Foundation, One Union Station, Providence 02903. Online donations can be made at providencejournal.com/giving.
