MARY ESTHER — The students and faculty of Mary Esther Elementary School need your help.

On Wednesday, a schoolwide book drive called "Books are Fun Book Blast" will kick off.

The goal: ensure that every student at the school has the proper resources they need in order to have a life full of reading.

Here's what we know.

How does this work?

For residents who have children who attend Mary Esther Elementary, over the next couple of days you will receive invitations from the students in order to reach their 10-book goal. The program ensures that all students will take home at least one new, fun and age-appropriate book for their home libraries.

All contributions made during the fundraising event go toward book collections for their own personal libraries. Any remaining contributions after every student meets their 10-book goal will go toward books for the school and classroom supplies.

If you don't have a student at the school and would still like to help a student or the school reach their goal, you can go to https://bit.ly/MaryEstherBookBlast to donate.

What is the fundraising window?

The Book Blast begins Wednesday and runs until Nov. 10.
