Dawg Gone Walk Planning Committee

Help plan the biggest dog party around! The Brown County Humane Society Dawg Gone Walk Planning Committee is active from January-May and the primary focus is to recruit sponsorships from businesses and individuals. Over 80% of this event's income is sponsor-based so it is vital to the overall success. In addition, committee members plan the actual event and carry out all day-of activities. Volunteers are also needed to recruit and coordinate vendors for the event as well as product donations for the creation of goodie bags for attendees. The committee meets once every 3-4 weeks through May and meeting times are based on group availability. The Dawg Gone Walk & Fiesta is scheduled for Sunday, May 19, 2024. The Dawg Walk is a fun-filled day where pets and owners alike enjoy contests, games, demonstrations, and a ceremonial walk around the beautiful Deer Run Park in Nashville. Kitchen assistants

Are you looking to make a direct impact on the lives of the most vulnerable in our community? Then this opportunity is for you. The Shalom Center day shelter provides free meals to people experiencing poverty in Bloomington. They provide breakfast for around 60 people every morning and lunch for around 120 every afternoon. This vital and life-saving service is offered Monday through Friday. Kitchen volunteers are needed for three shifts. The 7:30-9:30 a.m. shift requires volunteers to help with setting up breakfast, prepping for lunch, and cleaning up breakfast service. This position is a nice mix of guest interaction and quieter prep time. The 9:30- 11:30 a.m. shift has volunteers help with prepping for lunch. This position is ideal for the person who wants to help but would like to do so when it's a bit quieter. And the 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. volunteer shift is front and center! These volunteers help with serving meals directly to the guests, as well as cleaning up after lunch service. If you want the chance to interact with the guests, this shift is for you. The minimum age for these shifts is 14, or 10-13 with a parent/guardian present. To learn more and find the application link visit https://tinyurl.com/beacon-kitchen-assistants.
