The first event took place last year after the liberation of Chernihiv Oblast. In addition to clearing debris, Repair Together is engaged in construction. In total, the organization built more than 30 houses on its own and with the help of the Polish Foundation.

This year, the two-day Rave Toloka will take place at the House of Culture in the village of Yahidne in Ukraine’s northern Chernihiv Oblast. Volunteers will not only clear the debris, but also carefully disassemble the walls into bricks, which will then be used to build homes for families affected by the war.

“We received a positive expert opinion on the feasibility of reusing such bricks, so this should make a good recycling case that will reduce building material costs,” Repair Together said.

Ukrainian DJs Kuchinski b2b Dasha Joint, Recid, Crepaque, Sasha Zhylyayev b2b Maurin, Nastya Vogan, Igor Zadorozhnyi, and UK DJ Aezron will play at the event.

Organizers hope to use Rave Toloka to attract a new audience to their international camp, which will run from July to September 2023. During these three months, Repair Together will rebuild 20 homes. In total, organizers plan to accept 960 volunteers from all over the world. They will be offered a tent town with all the necessary amenities, as well as a series of cultural workshops, film screenings, networking, and other activities.
