Get help on your taxes at Carlsbad Library

Tax season is upon us, and if you are like me this might give you some anxiety. There are all these form with your information on earnings, interest, and health insurance. And you can choose different IRS forms. Do you even know where to start, should you hire a CPA? The library can help get you ready for tax season. Even if you are pro with taxes and just need a few things to get started we should be your first stop.

Each year we get forms from the State and the IRS. All the forms we get are free to the public. Always make sure to check early for our State forms, we only receive a small amount and they go quickly. What if all the forms are gone? Don’t worry we can print you any form you need. Even forms from past years, we can get you those too. If we print you the form it will cost ten cent per page. Year round we can help you print tax forms.

Do you fill your taxes electronically? We can help with that too. We have databases computers that have no time limit. Stop by Monday-Saturday to use our computer to work on your taxes. You can use them to file online, calculate your taxes, or research our online databases with tax advice.

If you are like me then you might not know what form you are looking for or might need extra help. Did you know that there are several organizations in town that will sit down with you and help you with your taxes? We can send you in the right direction. If these services are not the right fit we can also help you find information on CPAs in town that can also help you with your taxes.

What if you have problems that need to be resolved? Did you know there are tax advocates that their whole job is to help you resolve these? We can get you information for the IRS advocate service and for the New Mexico State advocate.
