Annual Compass Early Learning Center (ELC) Trunk or Treat

Volunteer to help at the Compass Early Learning Center's Trunk or Treat event happening on Oct 27 from 6–8 p.m. This is a family-friendly opportunity, with three ways to volunteer. Trunk volunteers: dedicate themselves to decorating their car, truck, table, etc., and serve as a spot for the kids to stop and get treats on their walk around the parking lot. Face paint volunteers: One of the most popular tables every year, the face painting is a blast. Candy connoissueurs: Each candy connoisseur will commit to buying 5-10 pounds of candy to be handed out during the event. Recruiting new volunteers in October!

The IU Student Advocates Office is actively recruiting new retiree volunteers during the month of October. You must be an Indiana University retired faculty or staff to qualify for this opportunity. This is a volunteer position that provides mentoring, directed referrals, general advising and support to IU Bloomington students at the university according to the mission of the Student Advocates Office. Curious George usher sign up

Volunteer to usher and see the show for free! Constellation Stage and Screen is looking for ushers for “Curious George” happening at the Waldron Art Center between Oct. 20–29. This commitment requires volunteers to be timely, well-dressed and courteous to patrons. Duties will include — but are not limited to — directing patrons to their assigned seats, handing out programs, scanning tickets, assisting with accessible seating, and generally welcoming patrons and helping them enjoy their experience. Ushers are encouraged to attend the show they are working at no cost and may be asked to assist the box office attendant with a post-show collection of donations and/or clean-up. Area 10 Agency Wish List

Area 10 serves as the Aging and Disability Resource Center for Monroe and Owen counties. Area 10 provides a variety of supportive services including home-delivered meals, public transportation, a mobile food pantry, congregate meal sites, care management, a Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP), an adult guardianship program, and a community center in the Endwright Center. Your donation will support the many seniors, people with disabilities, and family caregivers who rely on Area 10 to provide resources for their quality of life.
