Helping Hands Clinic appoints new medical director

Feb. 8—LENOIR — Helping Hands Clinic, a nonprofit focused on improving the health of the uninsured in Caldwell County, welcomed Dr. Bradley Christoph as medical director.

"I am so excited to welcome Dr. Christoph to our team," said Brittany Bonn, executive director. "His background in family medicine, passion for rural health and compassion for patients facing challenges make him an excellent champion for our mission."

Christoph practices at Southfork Medical Park in the Caldwell UNC health system. He completed his residency at Ohio State University where he also obtained a master's degree in public health with an interest in improving the population health. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in business at Appalachian State University with an interest in health care system operations.

As medical director, Christoph serves on the Helping Hands Clinic board of directors and will provide oversight and clinical supervision for medical staff to ensure adherence to best practices and provision of high-quality care.

"As a physician, my job should be straightforward: to provide medical care to the people of my community." Christoph said. "Unfortunately, health care in America is a complex system that sometimes fails to provide for those in greatest need. That's where Helping Hands comes in. The Clinic has decades of experience providing medical care to uninsured residents of Caldwell County. They have a dedicated, passionate team that I am honored to join in support of their mission to provide access to care and improve health and well-being for the medically underserved in our community."

Helping Hands Clinic is a privately funded nonprofit that provides free, high-quality medical care and pharmacy services to low-income, uninsured adults in Caldwell County.

Christoph was named medical director last month.

Last year, the Clinic served over 1,200 uninsured adults and dispensed more than 13,000 lifesaving medications. The Clinic offers comprehensive medical care including patient education, on-site labs, and specialty care. For every dollar donated to Helping Hands Clinic, $10 worth of high-quality health care is provided.
