Jim Parsons and Ben Aldridge are going to be pulling at our heartstrings this holiday season.

The Big Bang Theory and The Boys in the Band star is teaming up with the Pennyworth actor to star in Focus Features' upcoming biographical drama film Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies.

Based on the memoir of the same name, the two out actors will be portraying the real-life couple of entertainment journalist and TVLine founder Michael Ausiello (Parsons) and photographer Kit Cowan (Aldridge) as they navigate Cowan's terminal cancer diagnosis and the final chapter of his life. Though the subject matter sounds sad, the film promises a "heartwarming, funny, and life-affirming story of how Michael and Kit’s relationship is transformed and deepened when one of them falls ill" and we can't wait to watch it later this December!

Focus Features shared the first still from the film, where we can see Aldridge and Parsons in action as Kit and Michael.

We first learned about the film earlier this year, when we reported that Queer Eye star Antoni Porowski would be joining the cast, alongside screen legend Sally Field and other actors like Nikki M. James, Jeffery Self, and Bill Irwin.

Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies is set to hit select theaters on December 2.
