Here's what a $300K house looks like around Indiana

Earlier this month we took a look around the state to see what a home in the $500K range looked like in various Indiana cities.

With this edition, we wanted to see what is out there currently for a slightly smaller budget.

With 30-year fixed mortgage rates hovering around 7 percent, many home buyers may need to adjust their sights to more affordable homes.

Here's what we found around Indiana:

Indiana housing market:Here's what a $500k house looks like around Indiana

Houses for sale in Indianapolis

In the lower $300K range, we found this 4-bedroom, 2-bath home south of Downtown Indy listed for $304,900. The newly painted exterior draws you to the unique green door and large front porch sitting area.

Once inside, new doors, lighting, paint and flooring mean you would never know the house was built in 1900. The remodeled kitchen has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and a custom green hood.

Out back you'll find a detached two-car garage so you'll never have to scrape snow off your windshield before work.

If your budget is in the upper $300,000s, there are a few interesting options on the market right now.

Just steps from Mass Ave, Monument Circle, Bottle Works and more, this Downtown condo on the market for $375K has a New York brownstone vibe without the million-dollar price tag.

The gated courtyard (that you don't have to mow or maintain) leads into a 2 bed, 2.5 bath condo built in 2002. Updated hardwood floors, a fireplace and large windows make for an impressive living area.

The upstairs also doesn't disappoint, with large windows, a huge jetted tub and walk-in closet.
