Rumors have been flying for some time that Kelly Clarkson was developing her own talk show, but it wasn't until a few months ago that we got confirmation. Clarkson's new daytime talk show will air right before The Ellen DeGeneres Show–so, you know, no pressure–and will feature musical performances alongside interviews with both celebrities and Americans making a difference. "I love communication and I feel like there's a lot of brokenness with that in the world right now and there's so much division," Clarkson told Today. "So I do want my show to be just really inclusive and about connection."

Tamron Hall will debut on September 9, 2019. The exact timing will vary by region and is determined by the local station, but it will primarily air on daytime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., according to Disney reps. Per Variety, Disney (who are behind the show) are hoping for it to be a classic daytime talk show in the vein of The Oprah Winfrey Show and Phil Donahue Show. The actual format of the show will vary episode to episode, and will combine conversation with lifestyle segments. “What most of the [shows] out there have in common are variety and a lighter energy. We think we can be that while also being compelling and informative,” Hall told Broadcasting and Cable. “When you think about traditional daytime television, the kind we all fell in love with, in the course of five days you laughed with someone, cried with someone, maybe bought a book and learned something. Right now, we believe there’s not one show that’s doing that.”

There's no shortage of slick legal dramas on the small screen, but Bluff City Law stands out from the pack thanks to its setting alone—the show takes place in Memphis, Tennessee, and follows an elite law firm which specializes in litigating controversial civil rights cases. Jimmy Smits stars as legendary lawyer Elijah Strrait, whose estranged daughter (Caitlin McGee) returns to the firm after her mother's sudden death.

If you fell in love with Black-ish and its spinoff, Grown-ish, this one's for you. In the new series, Rainbow Johnson (Arica Himmel is taking on Tracee Ellis Ross's Bow) will tackle the realities of growing up as a mixed race child in the '80s, particularly at school, where classmates constantly question their identity. In addition to Himmel, the cast features Tika Sumpter, Gary Cole, Christina Anthony, Mykal-Michelle Harris, and Ethan Childress—and both Tracee Ellis Ross and Anthony Anderson are producers.

NBC's beloved tearjerker of a family drama just scored a three-season renewal, which means the Pearsons will be with us through at least 2022. Following the introduction of a flash-forward timeline throughout season three, creator Dan Fogelman has promised that season four will continue to surprise and devastate us. "It's going to be good," he said at a PaleyFest panel in March. "Our world’s going to expand a little bit in a really interesting way...we have a plan. I think where we’re starting the season is as ambitious as we’ve been."

Carol's Second Act, September 26 (CBS)

There's a lot of reasons to get excited about this new medical sitcom–not least the fact that it comes from two female creators, Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins, and that it looks hella funny and inspiring. Fifty-year-old Carol (Patricia Heaton) is newly divorced and done raising her children, and decides to retire from teaching to pursue her real dream of becoming a doctor. Per the official synopsis, she is "the oldest medical intern—by a lot" and has to "sink or swim with peers who are half her age."

American Horror Story and Pose creator Ryan Murphy's first show for Netflix looks like one we'll want to binge. The comedy centers on an ambitious high schooler (Ben Platt) who, since age seven, has been convinced that he's destined to be president–but first, he has to get himself elected as Student Body President in order to secure a place at Harvard. According to the show's summary, he'll have to "outsmart his ruthless classmates without sacrificing his own morality and carefully crafted image." The cast includes Bette Midler, Judith Light, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Lange, Zoey Deutch, Lucy Boynton, and more.
