Looking to keep your kids active and energized this summer? There are several options around the Montgomery area for summer camps and activities.

Alabama Dance Theatre

  • Tutus and Tiaras Camp: May 30-June 2. Ages 3-8.

  • Summer Dance Session: June 5-July 6: Ages 3 and up.

  • Summer Seminar: July 10-24. Dancers perform in ADT’s annual Stars on the Riverfront on July 23-24.

Alabama River Region Ballet

  • Summer Intensive Seminar: June 5-16, 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Ages 12-18.

  • Fairytale Ballet Camp: June 19-23 and July 10-14, 9 a.m.-noon. Ages 3-7.

  • Summer Dance Camp: June 19-23 and July 10-14, 1-4 p.m. Ages 8-11.

Alabama Shakespeare Festival

At Alabama Shakespeare Festival, they offer a variety of camps for young would-be thespians. Register for them online at  asf.net/education/camps.

  • Camp Shakespeare Junior: June 26-30, 9 a.m.-noon or 2-5 p.m. — Ages 5-8. Cost $200.  Dramatic play and theatre games.

  • Weekend Warrior: Friday July 7, 6-9 p.m. and Saturday July 8, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. — Grades 7-12. Cost $200 (or $100 with any other camp). Learn the skills of stage combat with a fight master.

  • Camp Shakespeare: July 10-14, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. — Grades 4-6. Cost $300. A week of acting, stage combat, movement/dance, voice, and technical theatre training.

  • Camp Shakespeare Extreme: July 17-21, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. — Grades 7-12. Cost $300. Character creation, stage confidence, and stage voice.

  • Broadway South: Musical Theatre Camp: July 24-28, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. — Grades 9-12. Cost $300. Voice, choreography, and acting skills.

  • Behind the Curtain: Tech Camp: July 24-28, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. — Grades 7-12. Cost $300. Work with pros in costumes, scenery, lighting, design, and management.

Snapology of The River Region

If your child is into robotics, Legos, Star Wars or Minecraft, Snapology of The River Region is the summer place to go. It's at the Armory Learning Arts Center, 1018 Madison Ave., Montgomery. Registration for each program is $139. Register at embed.snapology.com/licensee/55/events/location.

  • Snapology Summer Camp "Kinderbots": June 12-16, 8-11:30 a.m. for ages 4-6.

  • Jedi Masters: June 19-23, 8:30-11:30 a.m. for ages 7-14.

  • Incredible Inventions Robotics: June 26-30, 8:30-11:30 a.m. for ages 7-14.

  • Amusement Park Adventures Engineering: July 10-14, 8:30-11:30 a.m. for ages 7-14.

  • Minecraft Epic Mining & Building: July 17-21, 8:30-11:30 a.m. for ages 7-14.

  • Space Wars Robotics: July 24-28, 8:30-11:30 a.m. for ages 7-14.

Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama

There’s much more than cookies happening with these activities for Girl Scouts. On June 14, Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama will be taking part in Distinguished Young Women. On June 24, they’ll take part in Alabama State Parks’ 100 Mile Challenge kickoff. On July 25 is GLAM (Girls Learn About Manufacturing), a 3-day STEM program. Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts

Variety of artistic camps for different age ranges available at MMFA. Camps are $60 each. Register online at mmfa.org/programs-events/calendar.

  • Junior Art Camp with Tiiwon Siaway: June 5-8, 8:30 a.m.-noon. Ages 5-8.

  • Youth Art Camp with DaNeal Eberly: June 5-8, 8:30 a.m.-noon. Ages 9-12.

  • Teen Art and Activism Camp: June 12-15, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Ages 13-18.

  • The Art of Collage with Sarah Tanner: July 10-13, 8:30 a.m.-noon. Ages 9-12.

  • Youth Ceramics Camp with Sara Crocker: July 10-13, 8:30 a.m.-noon. Ages 9-12.

Montgomery Parks & Recreation

The city of Montgomery is offering a variety of summer programs, June 5-July 28, 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Fees are $30 per child, with additional fee for some activities. Free lunch is provided daily.   • "Shrek The Musical Jr." Youth Production Camp: June 5-17 for ages 9-17. Performances June 16 and 17.

  • "101 Dalmatians" Youth Production Camp: July 27-Aug. 5, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. for ages 7-14. Performances Aug. 4 and Aug. 5.

YMCA of Greater Montgomery

Spend a day or several days this summer with the YMCA. Variety of programs and camp sites, different price ranges and date options through June and July, with some transportation options. Learn more at https://ymcamontgomery.org/programs/camp.

YMCA of Prattville

Summer Day Camp registration fee is $60 per child. Weekly fee is $120 per week for members, $155 per week for nonmembers. A $10 per week deposit is required to secure a spot. Optional lunch is $20 per week. They’re being held at three locations: Main, Daniel Pratt, and Pine Level.  prattvilleymca.org/childcare/summer-day-camp.

Zoofari Summer Camp

This summer wildlife adventure at the Montgomery Zoo is almost sold out. Spots appear to be open for the July 17-21 week for ages 9-10. Fee is $199 for the week for non-zoo members, and $179 for the week for zoo members. montgomeryzoo.com/education/summer-camp.
