Here's Your Chance to Own One of the Only Bugatti Sedans in Existence
Back in the Nineties before Bugatti was purchased by VW Group, it designed exactly two cars under the control of Italian businessman Romano Artioli: The fairly obscure but still well-known EB110 supercar and the rarely mentioned EB112 sedan. The reason no one talks about the EB 112 is because only three were ever built. Well, one of those three is now for sale. Now might be your only chance to own one of the few Bugatti sedans in existence.
Unlike the EB110, which used a quad-turbo V-12, the aluminum-bodied EB112 made do with a naturally aspirated 12-cylinder motor making just 450 horsepower. It sent power to all four wheels via a five-speed manual transmission and standard AWD, and even had an optional four-wheel steering system. It was capable of sprinting to 62 mph in just 4.3 seconds onto a top speed of 186 mph—incredible numbers for a full-size sedan in the Nineties.
Just one EB112 was built by the Bugatti factory before the company went under. Soon after, a good chunk of its assets, including two unfinished EB 112 chassis, were put up for auction. They were purchased by Monaco-based businessman Gildo Pallanca Pastor and subsequently completed by the Monaco Racing Team. The one you see here, chassis 39002, was finally delivered to its first and only owner in the year 2000, seven years after it was originally ordered.
Since its completion, this EB112 has driven just 3900 kilometers (roughly 2400 miles). It remains in great running condition, ready for its next owner. The dealership offering the car, located just outside of Munich, doesn't list an asking price. But considering how special this car is, we're betting it won't be cheap.
