From kid's workshops to a turkey trot, here's events going on in San Angelo to get you into the Thanksgiving spirit.

There is a Kid's DIY-U Workshop at Lowes, 5302 Sherwood Way on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Lowes will provide all the supplies for kids to create a Thanksgiving Turkey Photo Holder. Reserve your spot online at lowes.com. If you are unable to attend during your selected timeslot, your kit may be given away to walk-ins starting at 1 p.m.

A Thanksgiving Social is at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Lyndale Senior Living, 6101 Grand Ct. Road. "This Thanksgiving join your beloved senior with family and friends as we enjoy festivities and a traditional thanksgiving meal prepared by our culinary team. While you are here, be sure to tour our community and chat with our residents," a flyer from the center stated. The cost is $20 for each guest (adults and children 11 and up) and $10 a child 10 years and younger.

Thanksgiving Dinner is Saturday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at Brayden Park Assisted Living and memory Care, 2695 Valleyview Blvd. Call 325-770-0821 to reserve with your preferred seating time and party information.

Thanksgiving food distribution is on Tuesday, Nov. 21. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and a meal will be served to the first 20 families at 4210 Coliseum Drive, CrossPointe Fellowship Church.

The 3rd Annual Turkey Trot is on Thursday, Nov. 23 at 8 a.m. There are 2 run/walk distances available, a 5K (chip timed) and a 1-mile fun run. The overall male and female winner will receive a gift certificate provided by Angelo Running. There will be age place awards and finisher medals.The run begins at Kids Kingdom, 290 W River Drive. Register online at runsignup.com. The 5K is $25 to register and the 1 mile is free for kids and $5 for adults. Registration ends Nov. 20 at 11:50 p.m.
