Opponents, times, TV: Everything we know about the 2022-2023 Louisville men's basketball schedule

Kenny Payne will coach his first ACC game at home against Miami, and the first-year Louisville coach will host North Carolina and Virginia as part of his first conference schedule. And now we know where you can watch those times.

Game times and TV information for most Louisville games were announced Sept. 28. Some games will be slotted into TV networks later. On Nov. 22, U of L announced that its Nov. 29 game against Maryland will tip at 7:30 p.m. and air on ESPN2, part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Earlier this month U of L released its full schedule, when the ACC announced the conference slate. As previously reported, Payne will open his first year as head coach at his alma mater with a home game against Bellarmine on Nov. 9. Prior to the opener, the Cardinals will play exhibition games against Lenoir-Rhyne on Oct. 30 and Chaminade on Nov. 3.

The Cards open ACC play early with a Dec. 4 visit from the Hurricanes and also has early conference games at Florida State on Dec. 10 and at N.C. State on Dec. 22. League play begins in earnest Jan. 3, when Louisville hosts Syracuse.

The Cards play North Carolina at home Jan. 14 and at Duke on Feb. 20. They play each Tobacco Road blue-blood only one time in the 2022-23 regular season. U of L will host Virginia on Feb. 15 and close out the regular season against the Cavaliers on March 4 in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The Cardinals face rival Kentucky on Dec. 31 in Lexington.

Louisville's nonconference schedule includes a game against a former ACC school, Maryland, a rematch of a game last season, this time with some familiar coaches in new positions.

The Cardinals will host the Terrapins in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. It'll be the second straight season U of L has played Maryland. The two teams met last season at the Baha Mar Bahamas Championship in Nassau.

Each team will have a new head coach for the rematch, with Payne taking over at Louisville and former Cards assistant Kevin Willard now the head coach at Maryland.

U of L assistant Danny Manning was a Wake Forest assistant when the two met last season, a 63-55 Louisville win that was a high point of the Cardinals' 13-19 season.

The Louisville-Maryland game will take place Nov. 29. Game time and broadcast information will be announced at a later date.
