Here's everything voters in Topeka City Council's District 6 need to know to vote Tuesday

Only registered voters in Topeka City Council District 6 will be able to vote in the Shawnee County primary election being held Tuesday, County Election Commissioner Andrew Howell stressed this past week.

No other elections will be held, he said.

In an effort to help avoid confusion during Tuesday's primary, Howell on Thursday made public a map of District 6.

Bob Beers, Craig Dunstan, Marcus D.L. Miller and Zachary Surritt are running in Tuesday's primary, in which the top two finishers will win the right to run in the Nov. 7 general election.

Election office records show that 9,254 people are registered to vote in District 6.

Voters need to remember to bring a government-issued photo identification card with them to the polls, Howell said.

He asked voters to cast their ballots at their assigned polling places to ensure that a provisional ballot is not required.

"Refer to your recently mailed voter card, or visit myvoteinfo.voteks.org/VoterView/ for specific ballot or polling place information," he said.
