Here's what happened to Josh from Emergency: NYC
Netflix just dropped a new documentary series, Emergency: NYC, which follows frontline healthcare workers in New York City and viewers are hooked.
The series features doctors, nurses and EMTs on the job at several New York hospitals, as well as patients who are often on the verge of life and death.
One patient, Josh, featured in the very first episode after sustaining near-fatal injuries and viewers were gripped by his story. So, here is how Josh is doing now.
What happened to Josh on Emergency: NYC?
17-year-old Josh appeared on the docuseries after suffering life-threatening injuries from being shot at least twice while out with his friends.
He sustained serious injuries to his diaphragm, liver, stomach and spleen and even had three cardiac arrests while at the Cohen’s Children’s Medical Centre.
He had to undergo multiple surgeries and procedures with Dr. Jose Prince and his team fighting hard to try and save his life.
Josh’s mum, Leslie, and older brother also featured in the series as they waited patiently to see what happened to him.
Where is Josh from Emergency: NYC now?
After spending lots of time in hospital, Dr. Prince and his team were able to close Jose’s injuries and he was able to recover steadily.
Josh’s breathing tube was removed and he underwent rehabilatitive exercises to help him fully recover, and Dr. Prince shared that he was even able to walk out of the hospital without help.
He had tonnes of support from his family during the series, and it was reported that they decided to move away, perhaps to help Josh’s recovery.
