Here's what happens in Casualty's missing episode
Casualty spoilers follow.
Casualty fans might be a bit confused in tonight's episode (June 11) as the ED will jump forward ever so slightly in time.
As we've already revealed, the BBC made the decision to pull the 80-minute special – titled 'Wednesday's Child' and originally scheduled to broadcast tonight – due to parallels with the tragic school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
The scenes would focus predominantly on a school shooting in Holby, and are some of the most shocking of the whole year. This episode will now air a week later than planned on Saturday, June 18.
An entirely different edition will broadcast tonight instead, meaning some scenes might feel somewhat out-of-sync given that they were meant to pre-date 'Wednesday's Child' originally.

Casualty – Why was tonight's episode cancelled?
As we've previously reported, this Saturday's episode, aka 'Wednesday's Child', was pulled just days before broadcast earlier this week.
The update came just days after the BBC announced the episode was under review and said in a statement to Digital Spy: "In light of recent tragic news events, we are reviewing the episode of Casualty due to transmit on 11th June on BBC One."
The BBC's statement was referring to the devastating shooting which recently took place at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, where 21 people, including 19 children, were killed and 18 further people were injured.
This is not the first time that Casualty has pulled an episode for sensitive reasons. During the first lockdown in 2020, an unprecedented situation saw an entire episode of the BBC medical drama skipped completely due to distressing echoes of the coronavirus pandemic. The episode did end up airing at a later date in the autumn.
Last October, Casualty was also taken off air at the last minute in the wake of Sir David Amess's tragic death.
This was because Casualty's instalment, titled 'Two Tribes', featured a gang-related knife incident involving doctor Rash Masum. It was eventually broadcast a few weeks later.
Casualty skipped stories – what happens in the missing episode?
Titled 'Wednesday's Child', tonight's missing episode was intended to focus on Ollie Hide's shocking storyline and his involvement in a school shooting.
While we don't want to give too much away at the moment, fans will see when it finally airs next week that this is very much a game-changing episode, and will impact several ED characters moving forward.
We also explained last month how that cliffhanger involving Ollie and Rob wasn't in there for no reason – and you're about to see why.
Before being removed, the BBC's original synopsis for the episode read: "David must come to terms with Ollie's involvement in a school shooting, and a patient from Paul's past pushes him to be honest with Robyn."
As a shocking shooting throws the local school into turmoil, David's life will be changed forever.
While David's world unravels, his colleague Faith will also fear the worst when she struggles to get hold of her daughter Natalia.
When shocking twists are unveiled, and further truths come to light, it's clear that life in the ED will never be the same again.
That's not the only story to keep an eye on though, as Robyn and new love interest Paul also take a big step in the episode.
When a face from Paul's past unsettles him, he is urged to be honest with Robyn about a secret he's been hiding.
Digital Spy understands that the major outcomes of this episode, including some of the more shocking elements of the story, won't be referenced in the episode going out tonight.
Casualty spoilers – what happens in tonight's episode?
Fans will have to wait a week to see Ollie's story unfold, as an entirely different episode will now air tonight instead.
'By Any Means' will air at 9.20pm later this evening, and will run for the usual 40-minutes.
The scenes will focus on Paige and Rash's story, as they both deal with difficult days.
Rash will help a father reconnect with his disaffected teenager, but is confused when he sees new girlfriend Paige at work, on the day of her BRCA gene test.
As Paige struggles to face up to the challenges ahead, Rash vows to be there for her but later struggles to do the right thing.
Robyn also steps up to help Marty and Adi with their surrogacy but things take a worrying turn when Adi's friend Jessica returns to the ED.
Viewers may find this strand slightly harder to follow as some pivotal developments in 'Wednesday's Child' fill in the blanks.
Also coming up tonight, Ethan will find himself in a new position, and Iain and Sah attend a climate change protest after it becomes violent.
