Here's what you need to know about CMT Music Awards road closures in Austin

For the first time in the show's history, the CMT Music Awards will take place in the Live Music Capital itself.

The Sunday, April 2 event will take over the Moody Center, and with such a big event comes crowds, traffic and road closures. Here are the closures you need to know about:

  • 11th Street closed from Colorado Street to San Jacinto Boulevard from 6 p.m.-12:01 a.m. on March 29-30

  • 11th Street south curb parking from Colorado Street to Brazos Street from 12:01-6 a.m. on March 27-April 3

  • 10th Street closed from Colorado Street to Brazos Street from 12:01-6 a.m. on March 27-April 3

  • Congress Avenue closed from 8th Street to 11th Street from 12:01-6 a.m. on March 27-April 3

  • Colorado Street closed from 9th Street to 10th Street from 12:01-6 a.m. on March 27-April 3

  • 9th Street closed from Colorado Street to Brazos Street from 12:01-6 a.m. on March 27-April 3

The following areas are local access only:

  • 10th Street from Lavaca Street to Colorado Street from 12:01-6 a.m. on March 27-April 3

  • Alley from Lavaca Street to Colorado Street from 12:01-6 a.m. on March 27-April 3

Drivers will still have access to parking garages and residential parking.
