Here's what you need to know on Election Day

Tuesday is Election Day across the country. This is considered an “off-year” election because the presidential race is not on ballots. However, control of the U.S. Senate and House are up for grabs. The governor’s mansion is contested in Texas as are some statewide, county and a few local races. Only a handful of contested local races await voters in Wichita County.

It appears interest in the elections has been good in the county. As of early Friday, the Wichita County Clerk’s Office reported 17,743 people had voted early, which one election official called "as expected."
