Here's the latest on the Turnpike shooting of South Jersey man

TRENTON - A Cherry Hill man who was fatally shot at a Turnpike rest stop died from a self-inflicted wound, according to the state Attorney General's Office.

Kyle Foggy, 29, was being sought for the murder of a Lawnside woman when the shooting occurred on Feb. 28 at the Clara Barton Service Area in the Pedricktown section of Salem County.

Foggy reportedly shot himself around 1:45 p.m. and was pronounced dead at a hospital at 10:16 p.m., according to the Attorney General's Office.

The AG's office claims Foggy shot himself in the presence of members of the New Jersey State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Foggy had been charged with the murder of 28-year-old Michelle Cruz, who was found dead near her home shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

The rest-stop shooting is under a mandatory investigation by the Integrity Bureau of the Attorney General's Office.

"That review is ongoing and no further information is being released at this time," the prosecutor's office said Thursday.
