Here's All the LGBTQ+ Content Announced During Netflix's Tudum Event

Netflix is back with more queer content!

Netflix held its annual Tudum event (named for the sound Netflix makes when user open the app), previewing some of the exciting content we can expect from the streamer for the rest of the year.

While there wasn’t much news about shows or movies that center around LGBTQ+ characters, there was a little bit, and there was some gay-adjecent news about shows like Stranger Things and Bridgerton.

Here’s a recap of what LGBTQ+ things were announced and shown at Tudum 2023.

1. Bridgerton

Netflix released several new images from the upcoming third season of its historical hit Bridgerton. While there wasn’t any actual footage shown, the images focus on Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin (Luke Newton) and their romance.

Elite Season 7 got a release date at Tudum, and a spicy teaser featuring none other than queer Brazilian pop star Anitta, who is joining the cast. The new season will debut October 20.

3. Emily in Paris

In a teaser for Emily in Paris, star Lily Collins revealed that she’ll head to Rome this season. "Is Alfie still heartbroken?” Collins asked. “Will Gabriel get his Michelin star? Will Mindy and the band go to Eurovision? Will Sylvie's rekindled love last? And -- the question on all of our minds -- will Emily and Gabriel finally get together?"

4. Rebel Moon

Zack Snyder released an exclusive look behind the scenes of his new sci-fi epic Rebel Moon. Rebel Moon features a nonbinary character named Milius played by nonbinary actor E. Duffy.

5. Heartstopper

We got to see the opening scene of Heartstopper Season 2, and it’s adorable! In it, Charlie gets some cute DMs from Nick, his official boyfriend. He then heads to school where he meets up with his boyfriend in person. Netflix also revealed the titles of the episodes this season: “Out” (ep. 1), “Family” (ep. 2), “Promise” (ep. 3), “Charlie” (ep. 4), “Heat” (ep. 5), “Truth/Dare” (ep. 6), “Sorry” (ep. 7), “Perfect” (ep. 8).

6. Stranger Things

Stranger Things has already featured ’80s icons like Wynonna Rider, Robert Englund, and Goonies star Sean Astin, and next season, it’ll add Terminator star Linda Hamilton to the cast.
