Here's a look at who ran unopposed in Lafourche and Terrebonne

15 positions ran unopposed across Lafourche and Terrebonne Parish.

The qualification dates for elected offices were Aug. 9 and 10, with cut-off time on Thursday, Aug. 10, 4:30 p.m. Here's a look at who ran unopposed in Lafourche and Terrebonne.

Representatives

In the State House of Representatives: Beryl Amadee, Jerome Zeringuez Joseph Orgeron, and Bryan Fontenot all retain their seats. These are 51, 52, 54, and 55th seats respectively.

Parish President

Lafourche Parish President Archie Chaisson III, ran unopposed and retains his seat, while Terrebonne Parish President Gordy Dove will term out. Nine people currently vie for the Terrebonne Parish Presidency.

Sheriff

Incumbent Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet was unopposed.

Incumbent Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre has one challenger for his seat named Thomas Rodrigue.

Clerk of Court

Both incumbents Lafourche Parish Clerk of Court Annette Fontana and Terrebonne Parish Clerk of Court Theresa Robichaux ran unopposed

Assessors

Incumbent Terrebonne Parish Assessor Loney J. Grabert ran unopposed.

Lafourche Parish Assessor's office is contested between incumbent Wendy L. Thibodeaux and Robert Theriot

Council Members

Lafourche Parish Council Members William Adams, District 2; and Mark Perque, District 3; both ran unopposed.

Terrebonne Parish Council Members Carl Harding, District 2; John Amadee, District 4; and Charles Champagne, District 5; all ran unopposed.

Coroners

Kayla Breaux, of Lockport, qualified for Lafourche Parish Coroner position roughly 10 minutes before the polls closed and ran unopposed.

The current Lafourche Parish Coroner Dr. John King, who is under investigation by the Lafourche Parish District Attorney's Office, did not qualify. Contacted by the Houma Courier / Daily Comet, King said he arrived just after 4:30 p.m., the time qualifications ended.

"I don't know if I have to do some kind of appeal I have no idea, but I planned to run," King said. "I had [District Attorneys meetings today and I was in my office this morning and I had a full day."

"Nothing unnatural happened, they're doing what they have to do, cause they close at 4:30 p.m. and I got here at 4:31 p.m. or the middle of 4:30 p.m.," he added.

Terrebonne Parish Coroner is contested by three individuals: incumbent Charles Ledoux, Donald Schwab Jr., and Patrick D. Walker
