Here's a look at Veterans Day events across Dallas County

Veterans Day is on Saturday, Nov. 11, and can be celebrated with various events and ceremonies throughout Dallas County.

Here's what is planned for Veterans Day this year around Dallas County:

Dallas Center-Grimes Middle School

Dallas Center-Grimes Middle School will host is 21st annual Veterans Day Breakfast from 7:30-8:30 a.m. on Nov. 9. Breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. following a brief presentation. RSVP to Kimberly Matteson by Nov. 9 at 515-992-4343 or kim.matteson.@dcgschools.com.

Dallas Center-Grimes High School

Dallas Center-Grimes High School will host a Veterans Day program on Nov. 9. Scott Potter will be this year's featured speaker. Doors will open at 10:05 a.m. with the program to follow at 10:35 a.m.

Dallas County Veterans Memorial Wall Dedication

Area residents are invited to a dedication ceremony to help show their appreciation for all Dallas County veterans, past and present. The dedication ceremony for the Dallas County Veterans Memorial Wall will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 11 at Freedom Park near Highway 169, Minburn. Limited seating is available and lawn chairs are welcome. A soup luncheon will follow at the school gymnasium in Minburn, 618 5th St.

Iowa Veterans Cemetery

The Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs is hosting a Veterans Day ceremony at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery at 8 a.m. on Nov. 10. Gov. Kim Reynolds will provide remarks, along with keynote speaker Maj. Sean T. Quinlan. The ceremony will be livestreamed and recorded at Facebook.com/IowaDepartmentofVeteransAffairs.

Perry Hy-Vee

Perry Hy-Vee will hold its annual free Veterans Day Breakfast for all veterans, National Guard, reserve and active-duty personnel from 6-10 a.m. on Nov. 10.

Perry High School

The 33rd annual Perry High School Social Studies Department Veterans Day Panel Presentation will be held from 8:45-9:45 a.m. in the Perry Performing Arts Center. The panel, moderated by Gary Overla, will feature members of the Perry Area Veterans of Foreign Wars. The 25th annual Veterans Day program will be held at 10 a.m., featuring readings, musical selections and video presentations. A luncheon will follow in the Perry High School Gym.

Perry Lutheran Homes

Community members are invited for a short program, coffee and pie at 2 p.m. on Nov. 10 to celebrate veterans with the addition of a Veterans Wall of Honor at the Perry Lutheran Homes Spring Valley Campus.
