Lake Wales (1-0) at Ridge Community (1-0)

Lake Wales has won its last three games vs. Ridge, including 55-16 last year, and is 9-4 all-time vs. the Bolts.

Largo (1-0) at Lakeland (1-0)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday.

Where: Bryant Stadium, 1125 N. Florida Ave., Lakeland

Outlook: Largo quarterback Jeremy Thomas completed six of 15  passes for 118 yards with 94 of the yards coming on two completions to Jose Ashby. Largo defeated Pinellas Park 21-0. Lakeland finished with 376 yards of total offense and allowed just 72 yards, including minus-9 rushing. Damarius Rucker ran for 99 yards on just six carries to lead a running game that averaged nearly 10 yards per carry, 24 rushes for 227 yards. In the Dreadnaughts' victory over Clearwater, their longest touchdown drive was six plays. The other five went four plays or fewer.

Auburndale (0-0) at Haines City (1-0)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday

Where: Joe Stangry Stadium, on campus,  2800 Hornet Drive, Haines City

Outlook: Auburndale had a bye week last week. Auburndale is 8-0 vs. Haines City since 2004. Haines City rushed for 335 yards, led by Keshon Tyler's 117 yards on 18 carries, and Jamarius Knight's 101 yards on eight carries in a Week 1 win over Davenport.

Wauchula Hardee (0-1) at Frostproof (0-1)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday

Where: Faris Brannen Stadium, East Third Street, Frostproof

Outlook: Frostproof junior Donavan Solomon rushed for 193 yards and one touchdown on 31 carries. Frostproof is 2-7 vs. Hardee since 2009 and has lost the past five meetings. The Bulldogs last win was 28-21 in 2012. Hardee is coming off a 49-28 loss to Fort Meade.

Clearwater American Collegiate (0-0) at Lakeland Christian (1-0)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday

Where: Viking Stadium, on campus, 1111 Forest Park St, Lakeland

Outlook: Lakeland Christian quarterback Parker St. John threw for 95 yards with 87 coming on two completions in last week's 14-10 victory over Frostproof. This is American Collegiate's first game.

Miami Gardens TRU Prep (0-0) at Ambassadors Christian (0-1)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Where: Feltrim Sports Complex, 204 Macaulay's Cv., Haines City

Outlook: Ambassadors still is looking for the first win in the program's brief history. TRU Prep went 6-3 last year.

Valrico Foundation Christian (0-0) at All Saints (1-0)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Where: Jahna Field, on campus, 5001 State Road 540 W., Winter Haven

Outlook: All Saints beat Foundation 56-0 last year in the first meeting between the two teams. Quarterback Daunte Giles ran for 120 yards and three touchdowns in All Saints' victory over Ocala Christian, and Bo Bell scored three defensive touchdowns.

Santa Fe Catholic (1-0) at Gainesville St. Francis Catholic (0-1)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Where: On campus, 4100 N.W. 115 Terrace, Gainesville

Outlook: Santa Fe is coming off a 25-21 win over SW Florida Christian, and St. Francis is coming off a 49-0 loss to Indian Rocks Christian. Santa Fe running back Julian Franzino rushed for 187 yards and returned three kicks for 107 yards against SW Florida Christian.

Bartow (0-1) at Kathleen (1-0)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday

Where: Johnny Johnson Stadium at Tom Atwell Field, Lakeland

Outlook: Kathleen hasn’t won against Bartow since 2019 when the Red Devils won 45-38. But the Red Devils are coming off a 26-21 victory over Winter Haven in Week 1 in dramatic fashion: Anthony Oldham threw late touchdown passes to Kaime Ivey and Benjamin Brito to complete the comeback. Ivey racked up four passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. Oldham completed three passes that were 40 yards or more. Meanwhile, Bartow is coming off a 35-7 loss vs. Martin County — the first time the Yellow Jackets  lost a season opener since 2019. Bartow’s lone score was from a Kaleef Valentine quarterback sneak. Five turnovers were the result of facing a good team in Martin County. Still, Bartow cornerback Tavares Murray did have six tackles in the game and looks to keep up the momentum vs. Kathleen.

Lake Gibson (1-0) at American Heritage-Plantation (2-0)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friay

Where: Heritage Patriots Football Field, 12200 W. Broward Blvd., Plantation

Outlook: Lake Gibson won 28-20 over East Lake despite Braves head coach Rich Pringle not liking a lot of what he saw. Still, what was positive was running back Fentrell Graham having two rushing contests — one of 68 and the other of 5. Graham, overall, posted 218 yards rushing in the contest so he will be key. Quarterback Jackson Akins was 12 for 23 with 129 yards and two touchdowns, and Tyson Gast caught the rock four times for 52 yards. And strong safety Tristann Vann registered 12 total tackles in the game. On the other end, American Heritage started undefeated for the first time in two years. Their key to victory was Mark Fletcher running amok, averaging 200 yards rushing and scoring three total touchdowns. Additionally, quarterback Blake Murphy has six touchdown passes and receiver Brandon Inniss averages 128 yards a game. And defensive tackle Victor King averages two sacks a game.

Christ’s Church (0-1) at Victory Christian (0-1)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Where: Victory Field, 1000 Longfellow Blvd., Lakeland

Outlook: It wasn’t a scintillating performance for Victory Christian in their Week 1 performance vs. Calvary Christian Football, as the Storm were blown out 35-3. The only score was from a Joel McGrath 42-yard field goal. Still, running back Rashad Orr did run for 63 yards and managed 28 receiving yards. Still, Victory Christian is historically a good program, and they’ll be looking to bounce back vs. a team that also lost in blowout fashion in Week 1. But Christ’s Church has been a winning program for three straight years.

Davenport (0-1) at Tenoroc (0-1)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday

Where: Titan Stadium, 4905 Saddle Creek Road, Lakeland

Outlook: Davenport is coming off a 38-0 blowout loss to Haines City in Week 1. Its offense was able to move the ball down the field in the first half, but the offense fumbled the ball on the 1, and Haines City recovered. Running back Isaiah Pierre looks to be a good player, utilizing his quickness and vision to hit gaps in the defense. And linebacker Braydon Odum had a big game last week with nine total tackles. The Broncos are also playing a team in Tenoroc that was blown out of the water by a score of 45-0. Still, Tenoroc head coach Patrick Smith was The Ledger’s coach of the year last season. And he will rely on Kris Hunter at quarterback, an all-county wideout and wrestler last season.

Jordan Christian Prep (0-0) at Avon Park (1-0)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday

Where: Joe Franza Stadium, 700 E. Main St., Avon Park

Outlook: Before the 2020 season, Jordan Christian Prep ripped off four straight winning seasons. The program hasn’t played a game this season. But after winning four of 10 last season and going 3-2 in the Freelance District, the Seahawks look to get their season off on a positive note versus an Avon Park team that won its first game of the year over Melbourne Central Catholic 51-0. Avon Park's bread and butter is the running game thanks to Nick Rowe who ran for 100 yards and three touchdowns last week. They also have receiver Darian Kirkland who had a reception for 47 yards. Defensively, Kirkland is a force at linebacker as well, tacking on five tackles last week. The Red Devils are looking to win a second straight Week 2 game.

Oasis Christian (1-1) at The Classical Academy of Sarasota (1-0)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Where: Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, 1845 34th St., Sarasota

Outlook: For the second straight year, Oasis Christian started 1-1. The Lions have won one of two in large part because of quarterback Gideon Kennon rushing for 73.5 yards a game. On the other side of the field as a defensive back, Kennon averages six tackles a game. But in the first week of the season, Oasis gave up 42 points to the talented Master’s Academy. The Lions will be facing an inaugural program in The Classical Academy of Sarasota, which, just last year, was involved in the flag football circuit. Even with no experience in playing real football, the Patriots won their first game of the season by a score of 40-21 over Sarasota Christian. Runner Sam Nolt racked up 135 yards and scored two touchdowns. On the other side, Liam Kelly produced 11 tackles and Josh Schlabach posted two sacks.
