Cross Creek Mall in Fayetteville is seeing several changes to its dining and retail offerings.

Closed: Waffle Cabin

What we knew: Waffle Cabin, a Boston-founded chain primarily at ski resorts in Vermont, New Hampshire and New York, opened a Fayetteville location in the mall food court in the late summer of 2021.

The chain is known for its liege waffles, also known as sugar waffles, named for the small bits of pearl sugar mixed into the yeasted dough that caramelize as it cooks, giving the waffle its signature crispy exterior and sweet flavor.

It will also serve Korean barbecue, where diners grill meat at the table to be eaten with sauce, rice and lettuce. KPOT restaurants include a full bar, serving soju, sake, specialty cocktails, wine and beer.
