Here's what new Memphis football assistant coaches will earn in 2023 season

Memphis football added three new assistants to its staff this offseason and all but one will have a similar salary to their predecessors.

Offensive line coach Jeff Myers will make $265,000 this season, according to the university's salary database. Special teams coordinator Chris White will make $200,000, and receivers coach Larry Smith will make $175,000.

The university said the assistants' full contracts are not available in response to an open records request made by The Commercial Appeal. Typically, Memphis assistants have been signed to two-year contracts.

In total, Memphis will save $90,000 in salary with its new hires. Most of that comes from Myers, who makes $100,000 less than previous offensive line coach Jim Bridge. Bridge made $365,000 last season as the Tigers' highest paid noncoordinator before coach Ryan Silverfield parted ways with him after three seasons.

Myers also took a pay cut from making $350,000 last season at Iowa State.

White will make the same amount that former coordinator Charles Bankins made last season. He also saw an increase in pay from last season making $102,000 at Buffalo.

Smith will receive $10,000 more than previous receivers coach David Glidden and received a bump from making $123,250 last season at UAB.

Silverfield will make $1.9 million this season, his fourth with the Tigers. It's a scheduled $50,000 increase that follows the terms of his original contract, which expires after the 2025 season.
