Here's how Saline County swimmers and divers fared at the Class 5-1A state championships

Nine Saline County swimmers and divers closed their season in the Class 5-1A State Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday in Lenexa.

Salina Central's Zoe Burmaster and Azbey Peckham broke school records in Friday's preliminary swims.

Burmaster broke her own record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1 minute, 12.98 seconds. She finished eighth in the championship finals with a time of 1:13.49. Burmaster finished 18th in the 100 butterfly (1:05.71) and did not qualify for the consolation finals.

Peckham set a new school record in the 50 freestyle in the prelims with a time of 25.53 to qualify for the consolation finals. She finished 15th in the consolation finals with a time of 26.28.

Peckham broke her own record in the 100 butterfly and qualified for the championship finals with a time of 1:00.64. She took eighth in the championship finals, recording a time of 1:01.22.

The 200 medley relay of Burmaster, Peckham, Mariah Prophet, and Alex Coykendall qualified for the consolation finals and took 15th with a time of 1:50.66. Burmaster, Peckham, Prophet and Amelia Coykendall made up the 200 freestyle relay that also qualified for consolation finals and finished 13th (2:02.51).

All three Salina divers made it through all three rounds of diving. Central's Caroline Fields was the top finisher, taking seventh with a score of 343.75. South's Rachel Sims was 15th (281.95) and Ally Exline took 16th (279.75).

Southeast of Saline's Ali Richardson made the consolation finals in the 200 freestyle and the 100 fly. She swam a 2:06.16 in the 200 free, good for 12th, and finished 14th in the 100 fly with a time of 1:04.22.
