Here's a sampling of restaurants serving Easter brunch and dinner

Easter is a busy time for restaurants. And many metro Detroit restaurants are ready and geared up for the spring holiday. Many restaurants have extravagant buffets with carving stations of prime rib beef and ham, omelet stations, an array of side dishes, breakfast offerings and a selection of desserts.

And at several places, you can expect a visit from the Easter Bunny and Easter egg hunts. Some places are also offering a complete Easter meal to-go.

Reservations are highly recommended and many restaurants will offer only select seating times.

Here's a sampling of restaurants in metro Detroit that are celebrating Easter with special menus, brunch or buffet offerings.

Crystal Garden

Southgate

Easter brunch buffet with freshly carved prime rib, country-baked ham, boneless chicken bella and baked Boston scrod with lemon butter. Sides include whipped potatoes and gravy, vegetables, bowtie Alfredo, macaroni and cheese, rigatoni with meatballs, salad bar, soups, bread and sweets. Alice in Wonderland Easter with chef Allie Lyttle in the Frame pavilion. Follow Lyttle, of Lala's Too in Brighton, down the rabbit hole and Frame pavilion's whimsical transformation into Alice's Garden Greenhouse. Sunday brunch is $85 per person with noon and 3 p.m. seatings available. Brunch spans five courses beginning with ricotta pancakes served with lemon curd. Following is smoked salmon, shaved candy cane beet salad and short rib hash. A serving of Hot Cross buns with picked raspberry jam finishes out the meal. Grand Castor is launching a new brunch menu on Easter Sunday. The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. Its new brunch menu includes a Cheddar omelet topped with chipotle creme and served with redskin potatoes, Chilaquiles con huevos with queso fresco, Union salsa and two fried eggs and a dish of chicken and waffles.For info: grancastor.com

Birmingham

Known for its seasonal, seafood-centric menu, Hazel's brunch menu is on for Easter Sunday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. On the menu are breakfast burritos, huevos rancheros, stacks of buttermilk, blueberry and chocolate banana flapjacks. Also available will be Hazel's spring menu of Eastern shore dishes highlighting blue crab and a variety of seafood dishes. Imaginate

Royal Oak

Easter Brunch starting at noon Sunday will feature a buffet that includes a charcuterie board, a selection of salads, smoked salmon and bagels, bacon and house-made maple turkey sausage. There's also fried or grilled chicken, Mongolian beef, a beef carving station and dessert display. $65 per person. Joe Vicari Restaurant Group

Multiple locations: Andiamo, Birmingham Pub, Bronze Door, Joe Muer, the Statler

Easter brunch buffet or dinner at several Andiamo locations. Andiamo Warren, Fenton, Livonia and Bloomfield brunch is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fenton location.) Brunch is $49.95 for adults; $22 for ages 5-10; 4 and under are free. Buffet menus vary at each location but include classics like chicken piccata, pasta, omelet station, Dearborn ham, salads and more. Plated dinner menus also vary at each location. The plated dinner service option is available noon to 8 p.m. at Andiamo Riverfront in Detroit, Bloomfield and Warren and 3-8 p.m. in Fenton. A dinner buffet is 3-7 p.m. at Andiamo Livonia. Seating times are 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. An amuse bouche features spring baby vegetables, beluga lentil salad with black pepper oil and feta. Each course features several choices. On the ground floor of the Shinola Hotel, San Morello is noted for its upscale Italian dishes. San Morello Easter brunch special includes a torta pasqualina, with arugula salad and maritozzi buns with a choice of lemon cream or chocolate cream pistachio cream. Other items brunch items are eggs al forno with Calabrian chili, mozzarella and warm focaccia, a wild mushroom frittata with herbed caprino, mustard greens and baba au rhum French toast with rum raisin and whipped mascarpone. This newly opened Mediterranean-inspired fine dining restaurant is inside the Atheneum Suite Hotel and Conference Center in Greektown. For Easter, they will offer lamb for two that features a full rack of lamb grilled with lemon and fresh herbs, twice-baked potato with feta spinach and garlic and an eggplant moussaka. Brunch buffet with seating at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. On the menu are scrambled eggs, quiche, bread pudding, pancakes, Nueske bacon, pastrami lox with accompaniments, a variety of sides and salads. Truago is celebrating Easter in two ways this year. The restaurant will be open on Sunday serving its regular menu that includes several specials. If you're in for a big buffet, Truago is hosting its "Room to Breathe" event off-site at Orlando's Familia Banquet Center in Riverview. From 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Truago will serve a buffet menu at the banquet center that includes nonalcoholic beverages. there's a prime rib carving station, Dearborn ham, breakfast dishes, sides, salads, sautees and dessert stations. This is the newest spot from the Union Joints restaurant group that opened last year. Union Rec is a coffee shop with pastries and a separate restaurant with a menu from three Americas — North, Central and South — according to their website. On Sunday they will launch a brunch menu with Torrejas, a Latin French toast, breakfast tacos, Chilaquiles and a chorizo hash.For info: unionrec.com

This downtown Birmingham restaurant offers modern American fare paired with European flair.
