MUNCIE, Ind. — Recent shoppers at the Muncie Kohl's will have noticed changes under way, specifically an area inside the store blocked off for renovation and one of the exterior entrances redone to denote the addition of Sephora to the store.

Those changes are almost ready; the grand opening of Sephora inside the 1200 E Princeton Ave. Kohl's near Muncie Mall is scheduled for May 27, according to a release.

Sephora at Kohl’s features a 2,500-square-foot section of the store offering prestige makeup, skincare, hair and fragrance brands and consultations by trained beauty advisors, the release stated.

Muncie's is one of 400 Sephora at Kohl’s store openings planned nationwide this year.

This won't be Sephora's first opening in Muncie; in 2018, Sephora opened a cosmetics section inside Muncie Mall's JCPenney. The department store — by then the last remaining anchor store for the mall — closed during 2020, having reopened from its months-long pandemic closure just long enough to have a liquidation sale.

The Sephora at Kohl’s partnership was introduced in fall 2021, with the goal being in 850 stores by 2023, according to the release.

Vietnam memorial wall replica on display

WINCHESTER — The Wall That Heals, a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, is on display through the rest of this week until 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22, on the north lawn of Winchester Community High School. The display is open to the public 24 hours a day, according to a release.

Eaton Library plans community art show

EATON — Eaton Public Library will sponsor a community art show 9 a.m.-1 p.m. May 30 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home. Entries must be dropped off at the library by 5 p.m. May 28, according to a release. Awards will be announced at 12:45 p.m. the day of the art show.
