Springfield's 4 By 4 Brewing Company is unveiling its second location in Fremont Hills next month.

The brewery's grand opening is Saturday, March 4 from noon to 10 p.m. at 9003 Sawgrass Ave. in Nixa. The celebrations will include live music from Dallas Jones, Isaac Kenneth and The Brothers Roberson. The Tinga Tacos and Lae's Authentic Egg Rolls food trucks will also be on site.

The Fremont Hills location will serve as both a brewery and tap house, like the 4 By 4 location in the Galloway neighborhood in Springfield. Both locations offer 20 beers, ciders and seltzers on tap, along with wine, kombucha and alcoholic and non-alcoholic slushies.

With more room to spread out, the Fremont Hills location features a shipping container stage, which will house live music outside. In the future, the outdoor seating area will also feature bocce ball, disc golf, cornhole, life-size Jenga and Connect Four, co-owner Danielle Shimeall said.

Both locations (following Fremont Hills' grand opening) are open Monday through Thursday 2-10 p.m., Friday and Saturday noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday noon to 8 p.m. This winter, 4 By 4's seasonal brew is Sticky Bunz Cinnamon Roll Porter, a medium-bodied porter with roasted barley and chocolate malt.

As Mother Nature continues to tease the Ozarks with her changes in weather, local breweries are gearing up for spring time events. The greater Springfield area is home to 13 different breweries, each offering unique seasonal brews and live entertainment.
