Many grocery stores and other businesses stay open on the Fourth of July, so you'll be able to make a last-minute trip to the store Tuesday. Independence Day is a federal holiday, though, so other services and offices will be closed.

Before heading out to see parades and fireworks, here's a look at what's open and closed on the Fourth of July.

What stores are open on the Fourth of July?

  • Kroger: Open.

  • Target: Open.

  • Walmart: Open.

  • Sam's Club: Open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for plus members, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for club members.

  • Jungle Jim's International Market: Open.

  • Meijer: Open.

  • Whole Foods: Open.

  • Trader Joe's: Open until 5 p.m.

  • Costco: Closed.

  • Aldi: Open for limited hours Tuesday. See your store's hours using the Aldi store locator.

Local government offices will be closed

The Fourth of July is a federal holiday, so local city and county government offices will be closed, including Hamilton, Campbell, Kenton, Boone, Butler, Warren and Clermont counties.

Trash and mail services may be impacted

If your regular trash collection day falls on Tuesday, the city of Cincinnati will collect trash the following day. Refer to the city website for more information. Rumpke trash collection will not be impacted.

The United States Postal Service, UPS and most FedEx services will be closed Tuesday. Amazon also observes the Fourth of July as a holiday.
