Here's how Suni Lee, Auburn gymnastics did vs Florida in second meet of the season

No. 5 Auburn gymnastics fell to No. 2 Florida, 197.825-197.2, in Gainesville on Friday.

Sophomore Suni Lee and senior Cassie Stevens led the way for the Tigers, each scoring a 39.525 in the all-around. Two of Florida's gymnasts, however, scored higher: Sophomore Leanne Wong (39.825) and graduate student Trinity Thomas (39.725).

Lee started with back-to-back 9.9s on bars and vault and followed that with a 9.85 on floor and a 9.875 on beam. In her performances on floor and beam, however, Lee had to deal with some possible distractions. During each routine, scores for Wong and Thomas were announced. Both scores were perfect 10s, which elicited loud reactions from the home crowd.

Lee stepped out of bounds on her floor routine and teetered a bit during her performance on beam. Her score on bars led Auburn, though.

This is Lee's last season competing for Auburn, as she announced her plans in November to return to elite gymnastics in preparation for the upcoming 2024 Olympics in Tokyo.
