Here's how you can watch Kentucky governor candidates Beshear, Cameron debate at NKU

With the election less than a month away, both candidates for Kentucky governor will take the stage at five debates in the Bluegrass State this month, including one in Northern Kentucky next week.

Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear and Republican Attorney General Daniel Cameronhave butted heads for years about controversial issues like abortion access and the COVID-19 response. But they've had few opportunities to debate the issues one-on-one publicly.

The Northern Kentucky debate is from 7-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at Northern Kentucky University. It will not be open to the public or most media outlets, but it can be watched live at the following, according to LINK nky :

According to a news release from NKU, the event host is WCPO 9 (WCPO-TV) news anchor Evan Millward and panelists include LEX 18 anchor Larry Smith, WDRB anchor Gilbert Corsey and Meghan Goth, managing editor at LINK nky

Other scheduled debates include:

  • 8 p.m. EST Oct. 21: League of Women Voters Candidate Debate, hosted by the League of Women Voters and WLKY

  • 8 p.m. EST Oct. 23: Kentucky Tonight Gubernatorial Debate, hosted by KET.

  • 7 p.m. EST Oct. 24: The Kentucky Debate, hosted by WKYT.

The gubernatorial candidates were interviewed separately at a governor forum in September, each discussing issues like income tax reform, infrastructure and health care, The Courier Journal reported.
