There's more at stake in Tennessee Titans' preseason opener vs Ravens than you think

The Tennessee Titans have more at stake tonight than just winning in the preseason opener game against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Titans will look to end the Baltimore Ravens' preseason win streak. The Ravens currently have the highest preseason win streak in the league at 20 games, per ESPN insider Adam Schefter, marking the longest preseason win streak in the league since the Green Bay Packers' 19-game win streak from 1959-1962.

On the other hand, the Titans' preseason record isn't as clean. The Titans have a 4-11 record in preseason games through the last four seasons. Tennessee is scheduled for three preseason games this year – at Baltimore and home games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Arizona Cardinals. A perfect record ahead of the 2022-23 season may turn some heads.

Aside from defeating the Ravens in the preseason opener, the Titans reportedly will start rookie quarterback Malik Willis and should also give first-round draft pick Treylon Burks some reps in Baltimore.

At the start of organized team activities in July, Burks suffered some asthma and conditioning issues that halted his performance in the offseason program. However, Burks reportedly is feeling "a lot healthier," and has the opportunity to debut as a top receiver before the regular season gets rolling.

Willis will have his first opportunity to give both the coaching staff and Titans fans some confidence in their potential leader.

The Titans preseason opener against the Ravens is scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m.
