Here's where you can celebrate and see Fourth of July fireworks in Portage County this weekend:

July 2

KENT — The 27th annual Heritage Festival will taken place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 2 on North Water and West Main streets in downtown Kent.

Events include a car show, live entertainment, vendors, and fireworks at dark

July 3

HIRAM — The village's Independence Day Celebration starts at 5 p.m. July 3 with a fireworks display at dusk from the Hiram College football field.

The event includes a children's bicycle rodeo and decorating contest from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Hiram Christian Church parking lot, 6868 Wakefield Road; fire trucks will be on display from 6 to 6:45 p.m. on Hayden Street; a medical helicopter will land for tours at about 7:30 p.m.

A parade will step off around 6:45 p.m. at Hiram Christian Church and move west on Wakefield Road, north onto Peckham Avenue, east on Hinsdale Street and end at the football field at Hiram College.

The Hiram Firefighters Association will operate a food booth.

July 4

AURORA — A parade will step off at 11 a.m. July 4 from Barrington Town Square and Route 306.

Following the parade there will be a family festival at Kiwanis-Moore Park including a DJ, carnival concessions, Jungle Terry animal show, balloon designs by Flower Clown, visits from favorite characters, and a celebration of the Parade Grand Marshal.

Later that evening, the city’s annual fireworks display will light up the sky from the center of town beginning at dusk.

Donations to the Hiram Firefighters Association are welcome to help offset the cost of the fireworks. There is not a rain date for the fireworks display.
