Here's where Cycle the Erie Canal 2022 is stopping in Rome, Utica

Cyclists on the Cycle the Erie Canal 2022 tour will be passing through the Mohawk Valley as part of an eight-day, 750-mile ride along the Erie Canalway Trail.

Multiple stops will be made at local spots including Utica Coffee Roasting Co. and Heelpath Brewing Co. in Frankfort.

The cross-state tour started in Buffalo on July 10, according to a release from Parks and Trails New York. After traveling through Syracuse on Wednesday, cyclists were scheduled to ride through Madison County, making various stops at local landmarks and eateries before arriving in Rome on Thursday, according to the tour's website and camping out on the grounds of Fort Stanwix.On Friday, the cyclists will travel through Oneida and Herkimer counties before reaching Canajoharie in Montgomery County. The tour will eventually finish Sunday at Corning Preserve in Albany.

"Cycle the Erie Canal tour is a wonderful way to experience the Erie Canal. It's fun, healthy and good for the economy," Parks & Trails New York Executive Director Robin Dropkin said in a statement. "We have cyclists aged 10 to 83 and they all get to experience what makes the Erie Canal and upstate New York so special."
