With National Signing Day right around the corner, one Augusta-area star has made his college decision.

Evans running back Joseph Hampton tweeted late Wednesday evening he's committed to Savannah State University to continue his football career.

"Been a tough recruiting journey but it's finally over," he wrote in the social media post.

Leading up to the early signing period in December, he made the decision to wait until February to see what else would materialize. That decision worked out as the Tigers initially offered a scholarship to Hampton on Dec. 6.
