Here's where to get free meals for children this summer in Monroe County

Although Monroe County public schools will not serve free lunch to all students next school year, both the Monroe County Community School Corp. and the Richland-Bean Blossom Community School Corp. will serve free meals to kids throughout the summer.

Meals will be available to all youth 18 and under at locations throughout the county but must be eaten onsite per state regulations.

MCCSC summer meals

The MCCSC is continuing its partnership with the Monroe County Community Kitchen to provide lunch to children at 13 locations. The program began this Monday and will run through Aug. 2.

Lunches will be provided at the following times and locations Monday through Friday:

Dorothy Apartments, 2226 S. Rogers St., 10:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., near the office

Southcrest Estates, 315 W. Gordon Pike, 10:55 a.m. to 11:10 a.m., near the mailboxes

Henderson Court Apartments, 2475 S. Winslow Court, 11:20 a.m. to 11:35 a.m., on the playground

Walnut Woods, 882 E. Miller Drive, 11:40 a.m. to 11:55 a.m., across from the playground

Trailview, 928 Moravec Way, 12:10 p.m. to 12:25 p.m., near the circle

The Reserve at Chandler’s Glen, 1320 N. Arlington Park Drive,  12:35 p.m. to 12:50 p.m., at the picnic shelter

Arlington Valley Mobile Home Park, 1600 N. Willis Drive, 12:55 p.m. to 1:10 p.m., behind the office

Crestmont Community, 1100 W Illinois Court, 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the playground

Highland Park Elementary, 900 S. Park Square Drive, 1:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., at the playground

Limestone Crossing, 540 S. Basswood Drive, noon to 12:30 p.m., at the playground

Country View Apartments, 2500 S. Rockport Road,  12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m., at the playground

Breakfasts and lunches will be provided at the following times and locations Monday through Thursday:

Templeton Elementary School, 1400 S. Brenda Ave., 9:10 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. (breakfast) and noon to 12:30 p.m. (lunch), in the cafeteria. Meals will be served June 6 through July 14, excluding June 20 and July 4.

Fairview Elementary School, 500 W. Seventh St., 9:10 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. (breakfast) and 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. (lunch), in the cafeteria. Meals will be served June 6 through June 30, excluding June 20.

R-BB summer meals

R-BB schools will provide free meals to children Monday through Friday from June 6 through July 29, excluding July 4. Adult meals can be purchased for $3. Children attending summer school will receive breakfast and lunch at the Edgewood school they attend.

Meals will be served from the food truck at the following times and locations:

Ellettsville Branch Library, 600 W. Temperance St., 11 a.m.

YMCA of Monroe County Northwest, 1375 N. Wellness Way, 11:45 a.m. (only for children enrolled in camp)

Ellettsville Boys and Girls Club, 8045 W. State Road 46, 12:25 p.m. (only for children enrolled in camp)

Meals will be served at the following times at each summer school location:

Edgewood High School, 601 Edgewood Drive, 8:25 a.m. to 8:35 a.m. (breakfast) and 10:40 a.m. (lunch) from June 1 through June 24, Monday through Friday.

Edgewood Junior High School, 851 Edgewood Drive, 8:25 a.m. to 8:35 a.m. (breakfast) and 10:40 a.m. (lunch) from July 25 through Aug. 4, Monday through Thursday.

Edgewood Intermediate School, 7600 W. Reeves Road, 8:25 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. (breakfast) and noon to 12:30 p.m. (lunch) from July 25 through Aug. 4, Monday through Thursday.

Edgewood Primary School, 7700 W. Reeves Road, 8:25 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. (breakfast) and noon to 12:30 p.m. (lunch) from June 6 through June 23, Monday through Thursday.
