Here's where kids can get free meals in Green Bay this summer
It may be summer, but that doesn’t mean Green Bay-area students won’t have access to free meals over the break.
The Green Bay School District’s summer food program is in full swing with over 40 locations offering children meals. All children 18 and under are eligible regardless of whether they are enrolled in a district school.
Meals are available every weekday through Aug. 19 for most sites, beginning July 11.
Locations include local parks, summer school buildings and special events where food will be available along with other activities.
Parents and those over 19 can purchase a meal at the sites as well. Breakfast costs $2.75 and lunch is $4.75, cash only.
New federal regulations require that students eat the food at the location where they receive it, and the child must be present, meaning parents can’t pick up food and bring it to their children.
For more information and to see an interactive map of the meal locations, visit foodservice.gbaps.org/summer_program.
