Here's where to see outstanding Christmas light displays in Stark County

As Christmas approaches, a favorite pastime for families is to get into the car and drive around to see light displays.

In Stark County, there are plenty to see.

Here's the list of some area holiday displays compiled by The Canton Repository this year. The displays are free to view but some accept donations for area charities and causes.

Northern Stark County

Vandegrift's Christmas Light Display on Elberta Avenue SW in North Canton features more than 25,000 lights but this year's display will be mostly static. No computerized light show.

Warren Musical Lights at 544 Winesap Ave. SW in North Canton features a variety of lights set to music and Santa's workshop with animations of Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves getting ready for Christmas. Music can be heard on 103.7 FM. Show times are 5 to 11 p.m. weekdays and 5 to 12 a.m. Fridays and Saturday, now through Jan. 1.

Christmas on Waterfall at 12355 Waterfall Ave. NW in Lake Township has a computer-controlled light show. Tune radios to 101.5 FM to hear music.

The holiday display at 442 Browning Ave. NW in North Canton features two fire trucks, a firefighter squirting water, Santa on a motorcycle, a Christmas forest and thousands of lights.

A holiday light display ar 4634 Brookhaven Circle NE in Plain Township features homemade wooden decorations and more.

A reader said the light display at 1104 Leslie St. NW in Plain Township was beautiful.

Zoeller Avenue Light Display at 13018 Zoeller Ave. NW in Lake Township features more than 100 lighted displays. Show times are 6 to 10 p.m., now through Dec. 31.

Frank's Holiday Lights at 11860 Basswood Ave. NW in Lake Township features nearly 30,000 lights, some set to music. Santa, Jack Skellington (as Santa) and others displayed. Now through Christmas, possibly through Jan. 1. Show times are 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Merry Christmas from Katie Land at 7637 Knollridge Ave. NE in Plain Township features 100 inflatables and a nightly opportunity to meet Santa Claus. Visitors can meet Santa either while remaining in their vehicles or can take a photo with Santa. Jingle bracelets will be passed out. Letters with names and an address that are placed in Santa’s mailbox will receive a return letter. Eastern Stark County

Shonk Family Lights at 2812 Belleflower Ave. in Alliance has more than 11,000 pixel lights set to 87.9 FM. Show times: 5:30 to 10:15 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; and 5:30 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The 15-minute show runs through Christmas.

Matthew 5:16 Lights at 3001 Edgewood Ave. in Alliance is displaying about 13,000 lights set to music at 89.1 FM. Show times are 5:30 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; and 5:30 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Now through Jan. 1.

Christmas in Silver Park at 2930 S. Union Ave. in Alliance is a drive-thru light display. You can see them in your car or walk the sidewalk. The display runs through Christmas from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

There is a light display at 822 Dogwood Trail in Alliance.

Ruble Avenue Lights at 7970 Ruble Ave in Nimishillen Township include a light tunnel and animated displays. The light show is synchronized to music. Show times are 5 to 10 p.m. nightly, and all day on Christmas Day, now through Jan. 8.

Metzger Lights at 920 Richard Drive in Louisville include more than 20,000 lights dancing to music. The shows last about 30 minutes. Tune to 104.7 FM for music. Donations accepted for the Louisville Community Cupboard. Show times are 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; and 6 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Glenbrook Village in Louisville has a lengthy light display that spans two houses on Glenbar Street. Show times, now through Dec. 31, are 6 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; and 6 to 11 p.m. Friday and Sunday. Santa Claus visits Friday and Saturday.

Central Stark County

Bright Lights on Bramblebush at 1639 Bramblebush Ave. NW in Perry Township features a "Happily Ever After" holiday light show set to music that can be heard at 102.7 FM. Donations for Stark County Hunger Task Force (food) and Wishes Can Happen (monetary) accepted. Show times are 6 to 11 p.m. weekdays and 6 to 11 p.m. weekends. A new show starts every 30 minutes.

Kulenics Family Christmas at 4040 Richmont Ave. SW in Perry Township features a musical display, and collects donations for Summit County Children Services. Tune radio to 90.1 FM.

Little Flower Family Practice at 211 15th St. NW in Canton features a light display with Heat Miser versus Snow Miser.

The Walkers Winter Wonderland at 2645 Brooklyn Ave. SW in Perry Township includes lights, 43 inflatable snowmen and other figures. Feel free to walk around but be careful of the wires and chords. Show times are 5 to 11 p.m. daily, now through Jan. 8.

The "Lights Before Christmas" holiday display at 1422 Bremen Circle NW in Perry Township has life-sized Santa, Mrs. Claus and elves. Tune your car radio to 102.5 FM to hear them sing and tell stories.

Christmas Lights at Stadium Park in Canton in the 1200 to 2500 block of Stadium Park Drive NW is a drive-thru display with more than 30 Christmas light displays. Show times are 5 to 11 p.m., now through Jan. 8.

The 'Light Up Keiffer' Display at 5200 Keiffer Ave. SW in Canton Township includes thousands of lights and several family-made wooden scenes such as Frosty, Grinch, a 16-foot-tall Bumble, Rudolph, Elsa, Olaf, Peanuts and Santa Claus. Show times are dusk to 10 p.m. each day, now through Jan. 1.

The Canton South Christmas at 3851 Highview Ave. SW in Canton Township features 3,500 full-color LED control lights for a show, with music, that lasts about 25 minutes. Donations accepted for the International Rett Syndrome Foundation. Show times are 5 to 10 p.m through Dec. 31.

Southern Stark County

The Scott family at 310 E. Carrollton St. in Magnolia has created a hand-built display with more than 200,000 lights that includes a 34-foot star and a cardinal with an 8-foot wingspan. Show times are 5:30 to 10 p.m. daily through Jan. 2.

Minerva’s “Like Your Lights!” Drive-it-Yourself Christmas Lights Tour includes 14 participating homes: 303 Wine St., 706 Elizabeth St., 904 Elizabeth St., 307 W. High St., 403 W. McKinley Ave., 505 Jackson St., 507 Jackson St., 840 Lynnwood Drive, 924 Lynnwood Drive, 506 East St., 1012 E. First St., 505 Queen St., and 24716 U.S. Route 30 in East Rochester. Now through Christmas from 6 to 9 p.m.

Western Stark County

Christmas House of Armistice at 6097 Armistice Avenue NW in Jackson Township includes tens of thousands of lights illuminating the hillside and more than 200 decorations set to music, lighted driveway arches and two mega trees decorated with 10,000 lights each. Santa on weekends. Show times are 6 to 11 p.m., now through Jan. 5.

The Mueller Family Light Display at 3035 Wickford Avenue NW in Jackson Township includes a 20-foot Nutcracker, a lighted archway, a large nativity set and thousands of lights.

Sturm Family Light Display at 2345 Amberwood Circle NE in Massillon includes hundreds of thousands of lights, lighted driveway arches, mega trees and more than 100 lawn ornaments and inflatables.

A small synchronized lights display at 933 Amundsen Drive in Canal Fulton. Show times are 6 to 10 p.m. each day. Must stay off the grass.

A reader said the light display at 623 Washington St. NW in Massillon was "worth an adventure."

Niebel Light Display at 6550 Roger Avenue NW in Jackson Township features a front yard full of lighted Christmas trees and snowmen along with inflatables, as well as a backyard full of lighted decorations and a full-sized manger, with music. Now through Jan. 1.

Christmas on Kolpwood at 547 Kolpwood Avenue NW in Massillon features synchronized lights and a 20-foot snowman.

May Christmas Display at 4160 Meadowview Drive NW in Jackson Township features more than 50 inflatables, blow molds, unique wire frame lights and much more. Show times are 5 to 10 p.m. each day, now through Jan. 1.

The Fonte Family Display at 6841 Regina Circle NW in Jackson Township includes more than 300 strands of Christmas lights, inflatables, blow molds, LEDs, icicle lights and more. Show times are dusk until 11 p.m. weeknights, dusk until 12 a.m. weekends.

Neighboring Stark County

Christmas on Cherry Lane at 1507 Cherry Lane in Green includes a display with an operating Ferris wheel, roller coaster and other moving ornaments. The lights are synchronized and can be heard on the radio at 103.7 FM.

Holidays on Wildflower at 4781 Wildflower Drive in Green includes a light show set to music that visitors can hear on the radio at 93.5 FM. Donations taken for Akron Children's Hospital. Show times are 5 to 10 p.m.

The Mast Family Christmas Display at 5262 E. Messner Road in Apple Creek includes a large light display, 8-foot-tall handmade trees, a snowman and Santa.

Peppards Memorial Light Display at 16998 Fox Lake Road near Marshallville features more than 14,000 lights and 80 inflatables. Donations accepted for Wishes Can Happen. Show times are 5 to 11 p.m. each day, now through Dec. 30.

Sebo's Christmas Display at 1790 Quaker Lane in Salem boasts more than 2 million lights.

Igo's Griswold Christmas Light Show at 9093 12th St. in North Benton features more than 30,000 LED and incandescent lights, involving three houses and a park. Now through Dec. 31.
