Here's where Worcester County lawmakers will serve on state Senate committees

Leadership positions assigned: Check. Committee roles filled: Check. Now, Massachusetts Senate Democrats should be ready to roll up their sleeves and start working on the more than 7,000 bills filed in this legislative session to date.

Worcester's leadership in the Senate is all Democrats except for Sen. Ryan Fattman, R-Webster. They will be occupying key positions in standing and joint committees.

In alphabetical order:

Sen. Joanne Comerford

Sen. Joanne Comerford, D-Northampton, was named to assistant vice chair of the Senate Ways and Means and will sit on the Senate Global Warming and Climate Change as well as the Rules committees. She was also assigned to the Joint (House and Senate) committees as the chair of Higher Education, the vice chair of Agriculture, and will sit on the Economic Development and Emerging Technologies and Racial Equity, Civil Rights and Inclusion committees.

Sen. John Cronin

Sen. John Cronin, D-Lunenburg, was assigned to sit on the Senate Ways and Means Committee. He will chair the Joint Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure, and serve as vice chair of Health Care Financing, as well as serving on the Economic Development and Emerging Technologies, Financial Services, Labor and Workforce Development and the Municipalities and Regional Government committees.

Sen. Jamie Eldridge, D-Acton, will serve as chair of the Joint Judiciary Committee, and vice chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Committee. He will sit on the Cannabis Policy, Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities and the Election Laws committees.

Sen. Anne Gobi

Sen. Anne Gobi, D-Spencer, will sit on the Senate Ways and Means Committee. She will serve as chair of the Joint Agriculture Committee and vice chair of Higher Education. Gobi will sit on the Community Development and Small Businesses, Judiciary, Public Safety and Homeland Security and Veterans and Federal Affairs committees.

Sen. Robyn Kennedy

Sen. Robyn Kennedy, D-Worcester, a freshman, will serve as chair on the Joint Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities Committee and as vice chair of the Cannabis Policy Committee. She joins Gobi on the Joint Agriculture Committee and will also sit on the Joint Education, Mental Health, Substance Use and Recovery, Public Health and Transportation committees.

Sen. Michael Moore, D-Millbury, will sit on the Senate Ways and Means Committee and will serve as chair of the Joint Advanced Information Technology, the Internet and Cybersecurity Committee and the vice chair of the Joint Financial Services Committee. He also sits on the Joint Bonding, Capital Expenditures and State Assets, Environment and Natural Resources and Revenue committees.

Sen. Jacob Oliveira

Sen. Jacob Oliveira, D-Ludlow, will serve as chair of the Joint Municipalities and Regional Government Committee and will hold two vice chairs on the Joint Public Health and Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development committees. In addition he sits on the Joint Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure, Emergency Preparedness and Management, as well as Financial Services committees.

Sen. Rebecca Rausch

Sen. Rebecca Rausch, D-Needham, will serve as vice chair of the Senate Census Committee and will serve as chair of the Joint Environment and Natural Resources Committee, and vice chair of the Joint Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities Committee. She will sit on the joint Agriculture, Education and Revenue committees.

On the Republican side of the aisle:

Sen. Ryan Fattman

Sen. Ryan Fattman, R-Webster, one of three Republicans elected to the Massachusetts Senate will be serving on four standing Senate committees: Rules where he serves as Ranking Member, Ways and Means, Post Audit and Oversight and on Redistricting.

His joint committee assignments are as follows: Bonding, Capital Expenditures and State Assets; Cannabis Policy; Elder Affairs; Election Laws; Agriculture; Public Service; Revenue; Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development; Veterans and Federal Affairs; Public Safety and Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and Management.
