Here's who's running for office in the spring election in Fond du Lac County

FOND DU LAC — Many incumbents will run again in the next local election, but a few new faces may be in Fond du Lac's future.

Four seats are open on Fond du Lac City Council, as well as two seats on the Fond du Lac School District Board and all seats on Fond du Lac County Board.

One circuit court judge seat is up for reelection, and incumbent Anthony Nehls in Branch 1 is running unopposed.

The final list of candidates filed their nomination papers with clerks' offices by the Jan. 2 deadline. None of the races in the county will require a February primary.

Here's who will appear on ballots April 2.

Fond du Lac City Council

Four of the seven city council seats are up for re-election this year.

Jane Ricchio, Thomas Schuessler and Brett Zimmerman, all originally elected in 2022, will run to keep their seats. Kenneth Cassady, also elected in 2022, filed non-candidacy and will not run again.

Two other candidates running for council are Antonio Godfrey and Angela Luehring.

Fond du Lac County Board

The county's 25 supervisory district seats will be on the spring ballot. Most incumbents are running unopposed, though Districts 3 and 19 will face challengers.

  • District 13: Incumbent John J. Rickert

  • District 14: Incumbent Michael F. Conley

  • District 15: Incumbent Joseph Fenrick

  • District 16: Incumbent Michael Streetar

  • District 17: Incumbent Jay J. Myrechuck

  • District 18: Incumbent Scott Rodman

  • District 19: Incumbent John Zorn and challenger Tom Herlache

  • District 20: Incumbent Tiffany Brault

  • District 21: Incumbent Dean P. Will

  • District 22: Incumbent Caroline Janke

  • District 23: Incumbent Martin S. Ryan

  • District 24: Incumbent Mary B. Hayes

  • District 25: Incumbent Angela C. Luehring

Fond du Lac School District Board

Two seats are open on school board this year, with two candidates running: incumbent Mark Henschel and newcomer Joe Lavrenz.

City of Ripon races

In addition to a mayoral race, Ripon Common Council has four seats up for election.

Council incumbents John Splitt in District 1, Terry Grunert in District 2, David Gallops in District 3 and Jolene Schatzinger in District 4 are running for re-election. Mark Denkert will challenge Grunert in District 2.

Incumbent Theodore Grant is running unopposed for mayor.

City of Waupun races

Three common council seats and the mayor are up for re-election in the City of Waupun, and all incumbents are running unopposed.

This includes Mayor Rohn Bishop, Pete Kaczmarski in District 2, Mike Matoushek in District 4 and Bobbi Jo Kunz in District 6.
