Here's why there are large cranes outside Paycor Stadium
You may have seen two large cranes outside of Paycor Stadium Tuesday morning.
They were lifting new signs to trumpet the stadium's new name.
Workers installed Paycor's logo as part of the naming rights deal the company and the Bengals reached in August 2022, said Joe Feldkamp, the county's director of stadia and parking.
No county tax dollars were involved in the new signs, he said.
The logos appear on both sides of the stadium and will be lit up.
"It’s part of the sponsorship," Feldkamp said.
Exactly what Paycor paid to put its name on the stadium formerly known as Paul Brown Stadium remains unknown.
The price tag and terms of the agreement have not been disclosed by the Bengals and Paycor.
Cranes might become a more common sight at the stadium in years to come if the Bengals and Hamilton County reach an agreement on a new lease.
The county and the Bengals have started to negotiate a new lease for the stadium and what improvements will need to be made to the stadium. The current lease expires in 2026. A study commissioned by the Bengals and Hamilton County estimated $493 million in basic maintenance and upgrades over the next 20 years. Another study due at the end of the year will delve into what major improvements will be needed to compete with other NFL stadiums around the country.
