Here's who won Ozarks' Class 1-3 high school girls' basketball sectionals

The Ozarks has a handful of teams knocking on the door of the state semifinals after winning Classes 1-3 sectionals on Tuesday night. Here are the girls' teams who will compete in the quarterfinals later this week.

Chadwick 46, Greenfield 40

Class 1

A close game throughout, Chadwick found its stride late and is one win away from its first state semifinal since 2014. Greenfield ended a great run at 21-6 which included a district championship win over Walnut Grove — which had been on a remarkable run of 11-straight district titles.

Macks Creek 75, Golden City 50

Class 1

The Lady Pirates continued their impressive streak of dominant wins with a 25-point rout of state-ranked No. 9 Golden City to advance to the state quarterfinals where they will meet No. 6 Leeton. Macks Creek hasn't lost a game since Jan. 3 and hasn't played in a game that's finished closer than within 10 since. Golden City's impressive run ended at 24-5 and with its second-straight district title.

Up next: Leeton on Saturday at noon at Central Missouri in Warrensburg

Miller 52, Archie 40

Class 2

Miller is back in the state quarterfinals where it will play the No. 1 team in the state. It first put away Archie (yes, the former Indiana coach's name was Archie Miller) in a game in which the Lady Cardinals pulled away in the fourth quarter. The great defensive play continued for a team that's allowed 31.3 points per game this season and a program that hasn't allowed more than 36.3 per game over the last five years. Bishop LeBlond will be Miller's greatest test yet as it eased its way to the state quarterfinals

Up next: Bishop LeBlond on Saturday at 1:45 p.m. at Missouri Western in St. Joseph

Norwood 59, Iberia 42

Class 2

Norwood had little trouble with Iberia en route to a 17-point victory. The Lady Pirates got to go into cruise control in the second half after a 21-point third quarter to take a 24-point lead. They will play in a rematch of a Jan. 12 game they won against Fordland for a 45-40 victory at home. Norwood has been rolling since the beginning of 2023 with their lone losses to Mansfield, Sparta and Ava.

Up next: Fordland on Saturday at 1:45 p.m. at Central Missouri in Warrensburg

Fordland 57, College Heights 41

Class 2

Fordland captured its first district championship since 2012 and it will now go a step further. Fordland is a game away from the state semifinals after Emma Trotter led the team with 15 points. She helped the Eagles break away in the second quarter and put the game out of reach.

Up next: Norwood on Saturday at 1:45 p.m. at Central Missouri in Warrensburg

El Dorado Springs 69, University Academy Center 31

Class 3

El Dorado Springs will continue its mission to repeat as state champs as it continued its postseason dominance — it has yet to win a game by fewer than 29 points in the three games it's played. El Dorado Springs, tied for second in Class 2, will play a South Harrison team that was receiving votes to be ranked before it went on its deep postseason run.

Up next: South Harrison on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Missouri Western in St. Joseph

Skyline 53, Montgomery County 36

Class 3

If El Dorado Springs hasn't been the most dominant area team in the postseason, Skyline would probably be next in line. The Lady Tigers continued their run and have averaged a 33.3-point win in each of their three postseason games. They will hope that carries over into the state quarterfinals where they draw South Shelby, the No. 1 team in the state. The Ladybirds have played an extremely tough schedule and will be perhaps the Lady Tigers' biggest challenge yet.

Up next: South Shelby on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Moberly Area Community College

Mansfield 57, Steelville 35

Class 3

The Lady Lions had no problems with Steelville as they dominated defensively in a 22-point win. Mansfield held the Cardinals to just nine points in the first half and three at the end of the first quarter. Mansfield has yet to surrender more than 35 points in a game during the postseason. It will have to try and contain a Fair Grove offense it allowed 66 to in a 66-29 loss on Dec. 5.

Up next: Fair Grove at 3:30 p.m. at Central Missouri in Warrensburg

Fair Grove 62, Diamond 52

Class 3

The Lady Eagles continue to roll after a 10-point win over Diamond — which got 40 points out of junior guard Grace Frazier. The Lady Eagles still controlled the entire game to secure their eighth game in a row. A rematch with Mansfield will take place on Saturday when the Lady Eagles ended Mansfield's season by 24 in 2021. Fair Grove beat Diamond by 37 in early December.

Up next: Mansfield at 3:30 p.m. at Central Missouri in Warrensburg
