Here's what Woodbridge has planned to mark Memorial Day
WOODBRIDGE – Memorial Day observances are planned for this weekend throughout the township.
At 10 a.m. Friday, state Sen. Joseph F. Vitale, Assembly Speaker Craig J. Coughlin and Assemblywoman Yvonne Lopez, all D-Middlesex, will host a Memorial Day commemoration at the Woodbridge Community Center, 600 Main St.
At 9 a.m. Sunday, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla will host a Memorial Day service at the Sewaren Boat Launch, 648 Cliff Road, Sewaren.
At noon Sunday, Colonia VFW Post 6061 will hold a Memorial Day service at the post headquarters, 606 Inman Ave., Colonia. Following the services, the Colonia VFW will host a Memorial Day barbecue. The cost is $25 per person with children under 10 free. Tickets are available by contacting VFW Post 6061 at 732-574-9783.
At 8 a.m. on Memorial Day, Keasbey Fire Company 1 will hold a Memorial Day service at the Keasbey War Memorial Monument Park at the foot of Edison Bridge on Smith Street, followed by breakfast at the Keasbey Firehouse located at 420 Smith St., Keasbey.
At 9 a.m. Monday, Port Reading Fire, EMS and Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Memorial Day service at the Port Reading Firehouse, 916 West Ave., Port Reading.
At 10 a.m. Monday, Woodbridge VFW Post 4410 will host a Memorial Day service the Woodbridge VFW, 393 Pearl St., Woodbridge.

At 10 a.m. Monday, Avenel VFW Memorial Post 7164 will conduct a Memorial Day service at the post headquarters located at 60 West Park Ave., Avenel.
At 10:30 a.m. Monday, Woodbridge American Legion Post 87 will host a Memorial Day service at the post home, 314 Berry St., Woodbridge.
At 11 a.m. Monday, Fords VFW Memorial Post 6090 will conduct a Memorial Day flag raising service at the Fords War Memorial Monument located at King George Road and Corrielle Street in the Fords section.
At 11 a.m. Monday, Iselin VFW Memorial Post 2636 will host a Memorial Day service at the VFW Memorial located outside post headquarters on Auth Avenue in Iselin. Refreshments will be provided after the service.
