Scottish ‘SKERRYVORE’ performs in Galva

Twice winners of Scotland’s “Traditional Live Act of the Year” Award, SKERRYVORE is coming to Wiley Park in Galva, on Aug. 16 from 7-9 p.m., for an evening of music, food, and fun! With a mix of fiddle, accordions, pipes and whistles, alongside guitar and vocals, underpinned by drive bass, drums, and keys, SKERRYVORE represents the best in contemporary Scottish traditional music. Bring your lawn chairs and be ready to eat from local vendors onsite. If inclement weather, the concert will take place at Bishop Hill Creative Commons. Tickets are $25, with kids 12 and under free, and can be purchased on Eventbrite.

Season finale of Café in the Park Wednesday in Galesburg

Downtown Community Partnership of Galesburg is hosting the final, traditional, Café in the Park, on Wednesday, August 17th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Park Plaza in Downtown Galesburg. Food features local eateries Cielito’s Café and Pizza House, with live music from Sullivan’s Daughter. It’s free admission and kids' activities will be provided, free of charge. Sponsored by Old National Bank. Stay tuned for DCP’s NEW event, Cocktails & Café, a Boozy Happy Hour on Sept. 21, from 4-6 p.m.

Check out one of Galesburg's largest Car Cruises, the River-2-River Cruise on Aug. 19 from 1-9 p.m. on Main Street in Downtown Galesburg. This event will happen rain or shine, open to all interested, and has no entry fee! Music by 3-D Sound with a 50/50 drawing, T-shirts, raffles and food vendors. Galesburg Heritage Days runs Saturday and Sunday at Lake Storey

Make plans experience the 27th Annual Galesburg Heritage Days, a free, public, family-friendly event on Saturday and Sunday, August 20-21. One of the Midwest's largest living history festival comes to Lake Storey Park. This event features over 750 reenactors and over 40 merchant/sutlers. Share in the excitement of both a pre-1840 Early American Colonial/Frontier Rendezvous, and a thoroughly fielded Civil War Battle Reenactment. Birthday Celebration of The Orpheum Theatre

The Orpheum Theatre is excited to celebrate 106 years this summer, and the community is invited to celebrate the occasion! On Sunday, Aug. 21 at 2 p.m., a concert featuring classical music from the Romantic Era, from performers Brenna Chatterton on piano and Josiah Chatterton on the baritone will take the stage. Tickets for are general admission and pay-what-you-can. This means that patrons can choose their own ticket price; 100% of the ticket sales benefit The Orpheum Theatre.
